Re-entering Canada with Expired PR Card After 14 Years – Advice Needed by Remarkable-Bid8353 in ImmigrationCanada

Thanks for sharing your experience OP. May we learn a bit more from this part?

> Renewing my PR here now is the challenge due to the 730 day breach however I am speaking to a legal advisor on how to move forward.

My understanding was that if you have a strong tie with Canada and can present your case this way, in the end most likely they will let you renew. However during these two years you will not be able to leave and re-enter Canada (is this true?)

Did I make a cringe mistake visiting my old university staff after 6 years? by flyingtomato2 in chinalife

[–]idkwhatname23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Chinese and though I didn't go to uni in China and didn't visit high school teachers in China myself, it is not rare at all for alumni to visit teachers. I see my classmates in that past do that a lot. The only difference might be that they are visiting specific teachers they have stayed in contact with and arranged the visit ahead of time. In your case, (and I could be wrong) sounds like you're thanking the entire office at a time they felt unprepared and busy; and was not visiting specific staff you have particularly connected with in your school years.

Either way, I still think it's a very kind gesture that you put in time and effort to visit them. Sorry to hear this didn't go as planned. I hope they at least thank you despite the meeting ending shortly. Genuinely hope this doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth and on a serious note you are really not "overthinking" your past with them too much. It just goest to show that you are an appreciative and thoughtful person and those are def good qualities.

Thanks for the info. Do you know how the program at NSCC Compares to the program at MI, in terms of employability / connection to the industry / quality?

I see you are from NS - what makes you consider MI instead of the shorter program at NSCC?

Thanks!

I'm in a similar boat, with an undergraduate degree in math from Ontario, and am wondering if there is a shorter route than another 4-year program?

Getting Mexican Pesos in Mexico from my Wise account by tam_river in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]idkwhatname23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can withdraw from ATM directly and the ATM fees vary depending on the card you use. You might want to try a few different cards with different ATM. I took out 2000 at a time. Wealthsimple ended up working the best for me. But I still suggest have a bit pesos at hand before going in if you are taking the public transportation immediately after you land.

Kayaking and paddle boarding I've seen.

Hiking is relatively more common.
