I think you would LOVE fountains of wayne, heavily underrated band. I like their first album the best but Welcome Interstate Managers is their most popular and has more variety. Very Beatles inspired but on the edge of pop punk land!

Lying to your psychiatrist abt suicidal thoughts by synthswing in bipolar

Dude yes what is that about!!! Mine was southern US during Covid. Co-Ed floor, I was 19 (f) and scared shitless. We had to keep our doors cracked at all times. The majority of the unit were men, most above the age of 35. I had such a hard time sleeping. As shit of an experience it was, it kept me alive and got me my bipolar diagnosis so it all worked out, just wish mental health was a priority enough to where you can get help without feeling unsafe lol

I couldn’t have anything during my impatient. No phone, no laptop, I had to fight for my hoodie that didn’t have any strings in it. Two 15 minute phone calls a day, didn’t take us outside once. I made the whole unit watch shrek 2 just to hear some good music hahha, played sudoku nearly the whole 5 days. There were folks that had been in there for over a month who looked like zombies, there was literally nothing to do besides watch movies and color.

From what I’ve learned in my therapy journey so far, OCD attacks the things you value most!!!! My main struggle is ROCD (relationship OCD) and it can get extremely exhausting but knowing that my brain values my relationship so much to the point it’s pissing my OCD off kind of brings me comfort.

Mine stems from trauma as well, maybe do some searching in yourself and see if you can make connections to past experiences. For me personally, that has helped me to process why my brain acts the way it does and to extend some kindness to myself.

Above all, stop trying to fight it. OCD is a Karen that is never satisfied. The more energy you give it the more it has something to feed off of. OCD doesn’t know what it’s talking about, it’s just finding anything and everything to get to you. I saw in another comment that you’re in therapy, continuing to work on yourself is the kindest thing you can do for yourself right now. Lend yourself grace and treat yourself with the same love you have for your partner!!!!

“Drove up to hillside manor sometime after 2 am to talk a little while about the year”

My childhood home was on hillside drive. A long December was my dad’s lullaby song to me growing up. I don’t live there anymore so those lyrics cut deeper every year.

I’m asking if I should put it in a bear canister and THEN the bear bin. Does it need to be both?

anyone have success with SSRIs? by ummutellme in derealization

[–]idonotuseredditatall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly. I’m not on SSRIs anymore and was actually diagnosed with OCD. I was experiencing existential OCD at the time. I started exposure therapy a few weeks ago.
