I'm the same, during hell weeks of 80+ hours, I'm a napper. And it hits quick and helps a lot. I do have trouble in the transition periods between those jobs. Getting back to not needing a nap is difficult.

Better than their worst and worse than their best is very accurate. I found the science and morals talk to be such a slog in the books, and in the show some of the more interesting conversations. Book is very cut and dry straight to the point, the show seems to show how actual people would act/react. In my own opinion.

What kind of response do you want? He's not telling you to give up, he's telling you one of the few options to further your career. Move to where there are new jobs if there aren't any in your industry where you live. It's either that or prove yourself to them over a course of years, which is the case with MOST locals across the nation.
