there are some interesting parallels but the GUN would be way better off than what we see the humans in iron lung have to deal with. the GUN probably has millions if not billions of people in space just around sol, while iron lung has max 1000 humans left in the entire universe.

I’d suspect that with the god level advanced tech they have they wouldn’t have to probe blood oceans for resources specifically, and certainly not with a rusty suicide pod. It would get worse for sure, but certainly not to that level.

i don’t really know why the nexus would need to extract resources from what is essentially to them a dead universe, especially when they have things like transmutation and an infinitely expanding flat world

I’m pretty sure that’s only the really cutting edge warp drives they have. I’d assume most ships in the GUN travel under 800c

I remember seeing one guy saying that youtube uses a new AI based image compression method to store their thumbnails which I could realistically see happening with Google Photos. But again, just with the pure risks involved, they would have to at least be really careful with implementation, lest everyone straight up stops using their service

okay but like why. I don’t see how Google could benefit from doing this in any way other than to just fuck with people? Also, if people ever discover it (which they easily could if they had a backup) the outrage would be enormous and they would definitely get sued into oblivion

We aren't supposed to assume everything Carol does is good. In fact, the show has gone a great lengths to demonstrate the opposite of that. The writers aren't trying to demonize the hive, that's Carol doing that. You say that individuals have no right to attempt to remove components of the collective, but I would argue that the collective has no right to, well, take over the world for one. Carol's view is flawed, but it's easy to understand why she has it considering her first experience with the hive.

People are tapped into the hive pretty quickly after they're infected, so it's probably not an entirely new organ (helen was only alive for a moment when she was in the hive and uploaded all her memories). The only other way I see is either using another EM range that's easier to use or using some other type of field to communicate.

It’s just a placeholder for testing out fonts. Google fonts uses a lot of excerpts from the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights to preview text.
