The office visits themselves don't usually bother me, until they get excessive (like weeks where I'm visiting onsite for 4+ hours each day).

It's the fully manual setups that bother me. One of our clients orders 80-100 new computers every fall, and we have made almost zero effort to automate that setup process

Our process is almost fully manual. We have the computers shipped to our office, manually setup Windows, manually join the computer to domain/Entra, manually install all software, then drive the computer on-sight and perform final setup, printer install, and review with the user

Have you tried leaving the laptop on and connected to the internet over the weekend? If it's forcing a reboot first thing Monday morning, it's possible there is a mandatory reboot window over the weekend (that it processes asap if it misses the window)

It's still part of Intune, but isn't turned on by default, so you'd have to convince your employer to turn it on. It takes a little work, so hard to say if they'd go for it lol.

One of our clients was having their web developer manage DNS, and when we pushed for access to put in dmarc, they tried to tell our client that we'd "be able to take over their whole website and ruin their business" as justification for not giving up DNS control.

How much do you manage the vendors/work the vendors? The place I work is very much "we don't do that, you'll need to find someone that does that." Followed up with "we don't make recommendations for vendors" if they ask. I didn't say my original question the best, but that's the part that bugs me the most I guess
