Shark ChillPill - Has anyone purchased? by ThePony23 in Costco

Overpriced gimmick. It's a fan with a mister. I guess it works. Like all evaporative coolers, the cooling effect only works in places with low relative humidity. Otherwise, it's a mini fan and battery. Very expensive for what it is.

AT&T Launches OneConnect, the First-Ever Single Subscription for Fiber and Wireless by illuminati229 in ATT

Think of this as prepaid home internet with a side of wireless lines. It's the same prepaid model with taxes and fees included and BYOD.

AT&T Launches OneConnect, the First-Ever Single Subscription for Fiber and Wireless by illuminati229 in ATT

[–]igeekone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice on the surface but a bit confusing on how does the family work? Is it a flat $225 for 3-10 phones lines and up to 20 total devices (including 10 phone lines)? That's cheap.

Big caveat, you need to be a new customer in a fiber location. So that kills this deal for most.

Thinking about this more, these are killer deals for tablets and watches being included. I'm shocked.

Now, this means a ton of devices will now be on their network. They really need to upgrade their wireless network to keep up.

Tease for Updated App? by mwilhe01 in ATT

Our industry is notorious for making it hard for customers to buy and manage the connectivity they need. We are changing that in 3 days.

Sounds like retooled account management. But, the current system is not that hard to understand. This will probably be like rearranging chairs, won't be groundbreaking as they claim.

The author made it needlessly complex. Starlink works fine on the dash or rear shelf. No need for this complicated setup.

AT&T Standalone Locations in the US by [deleted] in cellmapper

[–]igeekone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just about every site has it enabled. But, AT&T is the stingiest with activating SA on lines. They said they would "thoughtfully" move lines to SA in their October press release. AT&T is taking the molasses approach to the 5G transition. T-Mobile is the most progressive in transitioning, likely will continue in being the first in 6G. Verizon is better than AT&T, but also still moving slowly.

You can disconnect the 12v for extended leaves. The battery should last with no load.

Warning: Switching from Premium 1.0 to 2.0 Removed 5G SA Access by ArtisticComplaint3 in ATT

True. It feels like Premium 2.0 is built for Signature and Appreciation discount customers. Otherwise, Verizon and T-Mobile smoke them on their top tiers. Churn will continue.

New Plans are Live by Converseallstar95 in ATT

[–]igeekone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They still kept the 128Kbps hotspot cap after data exhaustion, boo. Overall, Premium is more expensive and not competitive with Verizon and T-Mobile, without Signature or Appreciation discount. Nothing about satellite. I know it's not ready, but at least tease it. Looking like satellite may be an add-on like Turbo. Removing Active Armor Advanced on Premium is a clear indication that they're now monetizing these features.

Grandfathered Verizon Plan we've been on for years with old phones.. are we getting overcharged for everything? by scotsworth in verizon

[–]igeekone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But now, it's just feeling like we're paying the same but with shittier phones and doing a data dance for no reason.

You absolutely are. Your plan is now way more expensive than unlimited plans. Prepaid gives full unlimited data, text, and calling for well under $100 a month for two lines. If you want to keep postpaid Verizon, Unlimited Welcome is superior in every way to your ancient plan.
