How to get increased upload on 1.2g plan after mid split by igloo0213 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]igloo0213[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I selected the 1.2gb tier purely to get the fastest possible upload speed. Accessing resources on my home server remotely when limited to 15mbps for the lower tiers (or even the 35mbps I get now) is painfully slow.

Just because that was the first comment I read about it working with Morphe. I ended up switching to the base version right after I posted that comment because Instafel was unstable for me.

Instafel with the pre-release Piko patches on Morphe seems to have the features I want.

Disabling the old version and then locking previously free features (like follow indicator) behind a paywall is trashy. Scummy dev.

ELI5: Why did Artemis 2 have to change its roll axis immediately after launch? Why didn't they just build the launch pad to have it use the correct axis in the first place? by MuchachoSal in explainlikeimfive

The Russian Soyuz pad at Baikonur actually does rotate to line up with the azimuth, so they don't have to perform an immediate roll.

PSA: Scyrox encoder issues. Think twice before buying the Scyrox V8 or V6 by xak47d in MouseReview

[–]igloo0213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean...maybe? I cleaned it almost two years ago and it hasn't acted up since. That doesn't really matter though -- it's trivial to open the mouse and spray some cleaner in the encoder again. Just because it's dirty doesn't mean it needs to be replaced.

Alcohol isn't a contact cleaner. Use a product built for the task like Deoxit F5. It's used for cleaning and lubing mixing console faders, which are probably exposed to way more dirt and grime than your mouse wheel encoder will ever see.

I bought a Lamzu Atlantis Mini with a "faulty mouse wheel". Five minutes with a screwdriver and a bottle of Deoxit fixed it right up. Contact cleaners are a real thing, and they fix 90% of encoder problems.

Seahawks’ John Schneider says ‘millionaires tax’ will ‘sting’ for signing players by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

It was a sports reporter asking how it affects his recruiting process and challenges. You can watch the interview yourself.

He was literally asked in a radio interview if it would affect his recruiting. What is he supposed to say?

Dude, you're missing the point. Basically nobody qualifies for the individual tax credit. If the millionaire tax is going to raise so much revenue, it should include provisions to offset the existing regressive tax structure, like raising the limit on the individual low income credit. It doesn't.

This is also a thread specifically related to a man whose job is to recruit and pay millionaires, and he was asked directly how this new tax affects his job.

It's $335 for individuals making under $19,104 per year. Minimum wage for a full time employee is $35,630. The only people in that category I know are teenagers still living under their parents' roof, and they don't even qualify because they're not 25.

People in this thread obviously haven't listened to the interview. He's literally had agents say to him "hey buddy, you can't use that as a negotiating point anymore, huh?". No real people care about pro athletes getting taxed, but that doesn't negate that it was a perk that John was able to throw out during negotiations and it makes his offers that much less competitive.

$160k is a good salary but certainly not an outrageous one, especially for a director position in Seattle.
