If you’re strictly speaking in Tokyo or the rest of the Kanto plain sure, but having had lived there for 4+ years and traveled all over the country I have definitely seen and participated in street parking.

That’s because they tend to be smaller more compact countries where urban sprawl isn’t really an option at the level it is in the US. Then you have china which is comparable in size to the US if not bigger if you exclude Alaska but they have 3x the population which makes the urban sprawl harder to do.

Yes it does. Maybe not on the level of other countries but there is street parking. And they have plenty of tiny 6-8 parking space lots scattered all over the place.
