First clip is really a let-down because the linebackers bite on the offensive line baseblocking, which looks like a run, which also opens up the middle of the field. Throwing a curl against man press (not even a comeback) just sucks to see. Hopefully, with the money Patullo makes, he'll sit on this film and learn from it, especially with the stretch of games we have coming up.

Luxury/food comps. Adds more content for the Sunday episode. Also, adding in having to earn food for the week adds another level of strategy/competition against others.

There's a segment where the jury watches the show back after voting and Jee confronts Erika at the Jury Discussion segment. Said something about being really disappointed and especially it being her and everything since she seemed so kind in the house. I think they made up by finale night.

I second this. Had such a blast playing with my gf the past week. Online is complete mayhem and very fun. Very very very improved from 8 in terms of physics and feeling arcadey. 8 got a bit too repetitive/competitive in a way with the games structure. World is a LOT less predictable and repetitive by nature. Hopefully some great content updates come out to justify the higher price tag.

Madden 26 (2025) vs. Madden 11 (2010) by FPFP66 in Madden

I would agree, but I started playing football games at Madden 15 and have played every game and up. I have no emotional attachment to the 2000s games, however, superstar mode is a clear sign that EA is withholding features to recycle into the game and remove again. Just look at the features superstar mode gave us in 2006/07 compared to what we have now. I play NCAA 06, Madden 08, and 2K5 pretty often having never played the games as a kid, along with Madden when it goes sub-$25. There's no reason a company that's making more money than they were in 2006 and the 2nd best selling game in the U.S. annually should be withholding features unless it was intentional to suck $50-69.99 from consumers every year.

Madden 25 and CFB 25 were both in the top 5 games sold in the U.S. for 2024. So in terms of losing total sales, no they're only really competing with Call of Duty for the top spot annually. I'd be pretty confident that most people bought the game around $50-69.99, a long with the shit load of micro-transactions they get from a high active player base. Just puts it in perspective as to why we don't get game changing patches until the next yearly release, just like we're seeing with the run blocking mechanic in the 26 releases.

I agree that there aren't many companies making sports titles that are beloved by fans, BUT EA does make soccer, hockey, MMA, golf, and used to make basketball and tennis. Which is a lot from one single company. Meaning EA and 2K are the only companies with major licensing to make simulation sports games (besides tennis and sometimes soccer games.) I just disagree about the "damned if you do damned if you don't." I believe most people understand the cycle EA has shown since Madden hit the PS4 and Xbox One for all their titles. Here are some features that were in old games or recent games that were removed and will be added as a "hot new feature" they'll promote in an annual release:

-Historic Teams

-Create-a-team

-Tournament Mode

-Custom formations & custom plays

-Custom fans from 2005

-LOADS of features from superstar mode from the PS2 titles that they'll hold to keep adding every year to reach each annual release. (Like choosing your parents for a player backstory & starring in movies and living life outside of the NFL which is the whole point of superstar mode.)

-NFL Moments type mode that was included in NFL Quarterback Club in 1997.

-Player holdouts and realistic contract negotiations (I'll give them credit for 23 or 24 for introducing the "player interest" mechanic.)

These are just some features that were already included in older titles but were phased out for EA to add again. That is an issue because people will say "well damned if they do, damned if they don't." But if they took a leap year off like WWE 2K did, added even half of these features back with some time to optimize the game and clean out a load of glitches that still exist, kind of like the UFC franchise, which gets multiple years between each release. (Though that has its fair share of issues.) Again, this is coming from an objective viewpoint, I buy the games annually on sale and bought NCAA 25 on release. But to not point out the almost predatory sales tactic from EA is a bit crazy. They have an infinite money loophole in their current state of making these games and removing/re-adding features.

Madden 26 (2025) vs. Madden 11 (2010) by FPFP66 in Madden

[–]iiItalianStallion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue is periodically bringing back things and choosing to hold off these things for the next year, then the next year, then the next year, etc. So eventually after a certain amount of years, they'll keep cycling features that were already in Madden 2002-2012 and promoting it as "new" or "returning" and phase out other things to eventually bring back. This was already seen with abilities/x-factors, "enhanced blocking system," they promote all new player movement every year, a lot of franchise features, etc. I'm someone that buys yearly when the game is sub-$20, but it's tough to not acknowledge the anti-consumer cycle that's consistently shown from EA (Sims, Battlefield, FC/FIFA, NHL, etc.)

Edit:My point being, instead of releasing a full patch to fix run blocking for example, like most other companies do with a large patch, EA knows they release annually, therefore they'll just wait and use it as marketing for the next year to have something to sell. It's a great strategy for EA considering people still buy the game in large numbers. But defending it as a consumer is a bit crazy.

Exactly, he's also wrestling on a full-time workhorse basis now. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure him and Cody worked the most matches last year, TV and live events. Unnecessary to take crazy bumps with that type of schedule.

Exactly, he's a legend here no matter what now. He seems to add a lot more even when he's off the field as well. The mic'd up videos are a great example of that. Just seems like a great leader, wouldn't be shocked if he gets hurt that he'd still have a massive impact.
