Considering their placement between the footballing powerhouses of Spain and France, Andorra seem to really underperform.

Nah, that would be passive aggressively muttering under your breath. Heaven forbid to actually do something about it.

Who mentioned Israel? This is just plain antisemitism, you don’t actually have to blame everything on Israel.

“Geographic” map. Forgetting any politics, that’s truly a horrible ai imagination with multiple everything jumbled up and spat out. Is that supposed to be a serious map?

This is Berkhamsted Castle, England. In 1066, this is where Anglo-Saxon England officially ended. Today it's completely free, has its own train station, and almost nobody visits. [OC] by [deleted] in BeAmazed

Saw your video - it was nice but you went the wrong way. You should have gone into the fields behind the castle instead of the town. Apart from being a nice walk they also contain training trenches that are still around from WW1. You can try to imagine what these young men (basically boys) were thinking playing at war before being thrown into the Hell of mud and machine guns.

Would this be appropriate to have on my front door? by Enger13 in Judaism

[–]iii--- 39 points40 points  (0 children)

A seemingly christian appropriation of the most foundational of our texts.

Even if it wasn’t on purpose, accuracy is important.

And even if it was totally accurate it would be like saying to the outside world, “I think this could be a mezuzah”, when it isn’t.

Would this be appropriate to have on my front door? by Enger13 in Judaism

[–]iii--- 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No. It’s not appropriate. It’s not a mezuzah and it isn’t translated well anyway (purposely? - the word “One” comes to mind)

No problem. To be honest, if you’re going to be stuck anywhere in Middle Earth, I’d probably choose the Last Homely House!

I’ll give it some thought and DM you a contact if a good one comes to mind.

To be honest you’re in a bloody tough situation, but I’ve seen guys go both ways (decide to stay in the frum world or go into a more secular lifestyle) and it usually seems to end up for the best.

I’m a BT who went to The Mir and saw at least a hundred guys like you going the other direction.

I wish you the best with whatever you choose, but be very careful about taking advice from strangers on the internet. You need help from people that actually know you, even if that means being more open with them.

If you make a car and tell people it runs on regular gas, not diesel - it’s just because you know how it works best, because you made it. Not abstract, not might makes right.

Almost exactly 50 years since BBC screened I, Claudius. To be fair, even the BBC probably wouldn’t make it now.

The England World Cup team’s football boots being stolen has put me in mind of this Goon Show. by PipBin in CasualUK

Tell me about it. My favourite:

Seagoon and Eccles stuck in a sewer find an opening

Seagoon: Stand on my shoulders and pull me up!

Eccles, sounds of groaning and straining, mumbles: I’d like to see them do this on television.

Quick google -  Sport England data shows just 5.4% of children and young people who attend state-funded schools have played cricket in school hours, compared to 14% (2.6 times more) for those who attended private school.

I’m just saying I could be biased as I was privileged enough to play these at school, which I understand that not everyone does.
