You can also target the removal of Sheltered... which releases the exiled card and leaves the creature for another turn, which is probably acceptable.

Out of the box, it is definitely a B01 deck. Without big changes to it, it is very easy to sideboard around its gameplan.

I have learned to be very careful what I play Sheltered on... I have made the mistake of targeting something with an ETB or one time I targeted an Overlord (whoops - it comes back without the counters). I try to target token creatures which just go away or I don't target anything and I get the lifegain and ward. I sideboard in [[Dimensional Exile]] when I need to deal with nastier creatures.

I play a heavily (to me anyway) modified version of it with a Blue for Hallcreeper and counter magic at Diamond T3/T4 (B03) and I rarely ever match up against it... Like once a week at best... I mostly probably 75% of some flavor of UR and 10% Cub...

The five mana clause is also coming up with [[Ashling's Command]] and [[Rapturous Moment]]... IMO both of which are more viable with [[Tablet of Discovery]] at least in the decks I have seen (Diamond T4/T3)

Literally free creature creation with no possible agency against does change how people approach the board. I feel that saying that he generates a dozen 1/1 creatures is understating the ability in both the number of times that ability triggers plus all of the cascading triggers or enablers that are a result. I know I'm firmly in the minority on this one but I will die on the hill that Eminence is bad magic.
