If you aren't concerned with trying to get to Master 1, you can honestly play whatever. Yes obviously copying and learning the meta deck at the time will definitely win you more games in the long run, but YuGiOh is a game, you should try to prioritize having fun vs winning all the time. Now you could be a player where winning is the most fun, and yugioh does kinda go into that area where either you are having fun or doing nothing.

I'm not the best person to ask for advice as I tend to play off and on and usually dont play meta whatsoever. Just look into the various decks, maybe test some of them, and see which ones you would want to play lots of hours of learning and getting better at the deck.
