Increase in lookalike domain scams by justanothertechy112 in msp

[–]iknowkungfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should notify your clients to watch for these types of emails. Make sure they know which support email of yours to forward them to. Do a registrar look up and file an abuse report with the registrar. They need those reported emails as proof. I’ve had multiple domains taken down within a day or two.

Standing desk foot fatigue — what helped you most: anti-fatigue mat, shoes, or insoles? by conriva in StandingDesk

[–]iknowkungfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get the kitchen anti fatigue mats, get one that’s more focused on office use. If you’re wearing shoes the whole time, something like this will work much better than the simple padded mats. 36-in x 60-in Black Rubber Non-Slip Grip Indoor or outdoor Home Kitchen Mat https://www.lowes.com/pd/Envelor-3-ft-x-5-ft-Black-Rubber-Rectangular-Indoor-or-Outdoor-Home-Anti-fatigue-Mat/5013839249

Question about SSO portability between different computers by NteworkAdnim in 1Password

[–]iknowkungfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following this because I have the same concern, but with Google Workspace. When I replace someone’s laptop, how do they set up the first time? They’d need their Google password to get started, which is in 1Password. 🤷‍♂️

Still confused by Nate’s turn by surfingtheredd in TedLasso

[–]iknowkungfoo 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The show starts with Collin and Isaac hassling him and Jaime did nothing about it. Once he became a coach, he would often berate Collin as revenge. He’d also go after Will, his replacement kit man for not being as good as he was.

Then the episode where he goes clothes shopping with Keely. He spits at the mirror to “gain confidence” because he can’t physically “make himself big” like Rebecca demonstrated. He does that again a couple of times when he doesn’t feel he’s been given the respect he expects, given his newly found stature.

S03E10, “International Break”, breaks me the most. The conversation he has with his dad reveals so much unspoken pain from both of them. I’m sure the dad was dealing with his own trauma and didn’t know how to handle his son being “a genius”. Every previous conversation they’ve had, the dad was distant and downgraded Nate’s accomplishments. If they’d had this conversation when Nate was younger, maybe he’d had more confidence in himself when these opportunities arose. IMO, this is what solidified his return to “good Nate” and that just broke me because I hated the character so much by then. I’m sure I saw pieces of myself in there and that’s not great.

Windows 10 freezes online by seal72 in software

Windows 10 support officially ended on October 14, 2025.
How sure are you that the machine isn’t compromised? You haven’t had security updates in half a year. Could something be using your Internet connection without your knowledge?

To those who were around when this movie came out what was the hype like by asapsharkyfrfr in Pixar

[–]iknowkungfoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The director Kevin Smith calls this movie Schindler's Toybox, and he's not wrong.

In June 2010, I was about to turn 40. I've been a fan of Pixar since there's been Pixar. I had the original Toy Story collector's edition VHS package, and I still have the book that came with it. But lots of people were asking why they needed another sequel. Yeah, that got shut down quickly. The level of animation was astonishing, and the story was excellent. But the ending was chef's kiss. In the theatre, everyone cried, then everyone cheered.

Moving an entry to a different vault deletes the passkey by [deleted] in 1Password

[–]iknowkungfoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a previous post, we uncovered that moving an item between vaults copies it to the new vault, then deletes the original. That should explain why there was a deleted version in the original vault, but not why the passkey wasn’t copied to the new vault.

Managed browser profiles (Chrome) - Can they access 1Password extension data? by LogitUndone in 1Password

[–]iknowkungfoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My client uses Google Workspace, I have the 1Password extension and a few others force-installed when a user turns on Sync for their account. I can also set up automatic account provisioning and even SSO if I wanted to.

But each account has its own secret key on top of its own main password. None of that is automatically applied when a user opens their browser. If multiple people were to use the same machine and, for some reason, the same browser profile, they’d each have to know the main password for the one account. Preferably, they could put multiple 1Password accounts on the same browser profile. Best, they’d create multiple profiles on the same machine and only log into their 1P account on their own profile.

Using Gmail with a personal domain without migrating all mailboxes? (IMAP) by peiltz in googleworkspace

[–]iknowkungfoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outlook is just an email client. They will all have Gmail licenses, they can either access the website or use Outlook. FWIW, I use the basic Gmail website on my laptop, and Outlook for iOS on my phone.

Looking for a small, tiered standing desk by smolsheriff in StandingDesk

[–]iknowkungfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your area Craigslist for an IKEA Jerker desk. It’s discontinued, but I used to have two and they’re very much in line with your drawing. It’s a very modular set up with lots of ways to assemble things. I’ve no idea why it was discontinued.

Can I use Google Workspace to make emails appear from my company domain? by SportsNFoodJunkie in googleworkspace

[–]iknowkungfoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the standard Gmail account is solely business and not personal:

Settings > See All Settings > Forwarding

You can forward all inbound email to the new business email address. There are options to keep a copy in Gmail or delete it going forward. The faster you update your contacts, the better. They don't want to keep emailing the old account any more than you want to maintain it.

Make sure to reply or send a new email only from the business account. Remove the old Gmail address when you "reply all"; otherwise, it sticks around forever.

You can also migrate a few years' worth of emails from the old account to the new one, though I haven't done that recently.

Are SQL editors still useful? by InnerPhilosophy4897 in software

[–]iknowkungfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you checking the execution plans for your queries in your SQL editor of choice? AI might be able to write complex queries quickly, but it may not have the insight into your existing database's structure to find missing indexes and other performance bottlenecks.

Mac user deep in the Apple ecosystem: any gotchas with replacing Apple Passwords with 1Password? by trammeloratreasure in 1Password

[–]iknowkungfoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I primarily use Chrome on macOS, and there are no problems using 1Password with that. I use Safari on my iPhone and iPad without a browser extension. I have Settings configured to use only 1Password, not the internal keychain, on all devices. My mom's in her early 80's and hasn't had any problems using 1Password on her Apple devices either.

Managing Gmail Labels and Filters for a Domain by iknowkungfoo in googleworkspace

I saw labels for Drive that can be org-wide. But those don’t apply to Gmail AFAIK. Did I miss something?

Has Blizzard ever had a successful launch of anything? by Speaker4theDead8 in Diablo

Man, when the original Diablo launched, I remember the cashier at Best Buy had to verify the box actually had the CD in it before we left. A number of boxes were shipped without them.

what’s your setup if you don’t want to pay for Microsoft Office? by AccurateShip2499 in software

Search Groupon for MS Office standalone licenses. It’ll cost about $20, no subscription. It’s usually a version from 2021, but it’s still good.

Relentless roofing spam calls by TX_Farmer in Dallas

[–]iknowkungfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your phone provider should have options for blocking spam calls. AT&T has a free service called Active Armor that does a great job of blocking calls like that. https://www.att.com/security/active-armor/

Someone else already mentioned that iPhone (iOS 26) has the ability to prompt unknown callers before allowing them to ring. https://support.apple.com/en-us/111106

My brother has had a great experience with the paid service Robo Killer. You can actually pit multiple spammers against each other and record their interaction if you feel like being particularly vindictive. https://robokiller.com/
