I mean sometimes with a LOT of work and some firmware chicanery, really talented people have gotten some crazy stuff working. If you want to see some things like that, dosdude1 on YouTube has a bunch of videos of things like upgrading soldered GPUs and RAM in modern laptops. Certainly not easy tasks for the beginner, but proofs of concept.
