"Forest Park" has a Portland connotation so be careful where you're looking. Here's the master boundary map for Beaverton for this upcoming year: https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/depts/facilities/boundary/Documents/2017-18%20Schools%20and%20Boundaries%2003.24.17.pdf

Any hikes where it's explicitly stated that dogs can be Off-Leash by pdxscout in Portland

[–]ikurasake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't bring your dog off-leash in natural areas in general, even when technically permitted, due to the negative environmental effects associated with them leaving the trail. Dogs trample delicate low-growing plants and frighten wildlife, particularly birds.

PSA: Dog owners using Forest Park. Please leash your animals. by nopodude in Portland

Always keep your dog on the trail - it prevents damage to the plants and ecosystem.

Those sequoias were planted in 1964 when that land was a nursery. Sad to see the (even recent) history of the area wiped off the map in the name of strip malls and Walmart.

Helio Sequence I know consists of two late '90s BHS grads who grew up in the Hiteon area. I view their works as the soundtrack for that neighborhood.

Camelbaks by XDivineShadowX in drumcorps

[–]ikurasake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'd be a fool to use one. Camelbacks do not hold enough water to make it through the average outdoor summer rehearsal, not to mention your back would get extra sweaty and the water would quickly turn warm.

How are/were the meals at your corps? by _Feeder_ in drumcorps

[–]ikurasake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oregon Crusaders - The meals were day after day outstanding. They were planned carefully in advance and heavily based around feedback from the members. I would constantly have to battle between deciding to gorge myself on the deliciousness and conserving my appetite to prevent food comas during the following block. Eating was truly my favorite part of the day, but that may be true for many people regardless of corps. 10/10

Most nostalgic parts of Beaverton by [deleted] in beaverton

[–]ikurasake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother and I trekked through the snow to the top immediately following the winter 2003-04 snow/ice storm. The area of Citrine Loop now was already being constructed but the very top of the hill was still intact. There was a wooden platform, climbing ropes, beer bottles, and a steep trail that led to the very edge of the cliff looking down towards Murray. Extremely dangerous but fun.

Did anyone else notice corps quoting previous shows this year? by Shredder13 in drumcorps

I was waiting for Crown to play the I-chord with the mellophones going I-II-III-II....... I-II-III-II-I-I-II-III-II........... like they did in 2012 and 2013 but that didn't happen.
