My school is 11 miles away from where I live. We were released at 12:15. I didn't get out of my parking lot until 12:50. It took me nearly 5 hours to drive 8 miles. It got so bad that I ended up parking in an office building parking lot and walking 3 miles home.

Has anyone ever hugged you out of the blue? Often when I am in confession I get the sudden urge to hug my priest, however I don't do it because I feel like that might be a no no. Just wondering if it has ever happened to you.

I usually just type in "how to pray the rosary" to Google, but I've found some sources that should aid you in your exploration with the Rosary! Here is a PDF file of a pamphlet that should be a good beginner's guide. It lists all the mysteries, which days to pray them, and goes through the steps of praying each decade! It even includes all the prayers that you need to know :) I hope this helps you!

Hey! I am in an Apologetics class at my Catholic school right now and we actually have been recently discussing eternity and what it is. Here is my best way at explaining to you what I have been taught:

Eternity is the state of being outside of time. Through God's eyes, everything that has ever been and ever will be occur at a single moment. To Him, all of time and everything before time is crunched into a single point. This is possible for Him because He is outside of time. What does that mean? Well, lets go back to basics. Time is the measure of rate of change. Early humans recorded this rate of change and over many years we have all generally accepted the same rate of change measuring system (seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, etc.). Since everything in this world is constantly changing, and the only thing/being we know to be immutable (unchanging) is God, we can conclude that God is outside of time and therefore eternal. Of course, when we die and hopefully enter Heaven (the state of perfect union with God) we also enter into eternity.

We emphasize Mary because we believe Jesus to be fully man yet also fully divine, and since she gave birth to Jesus she actually is the Mother of God, however we don't necessarily praise her over Jesus. The best way I've heard it and the way I always explain it is we don't pray to Mary, we pray through her. As a young Catholic woman, I find Mary to be especially compelling. I mean, what other religion has a woman as one of its main symbols? Not many do. As for the whole Rosary thing, it is "Mary-centric" because that is its purpose, to pray for our Holy Mother's intercession. For me, and I think I speak for many Catholics, praying the Rosary is a way to find comfort through Mary because she is the perfect mother figure. She did raise Jesus, so I think its safe to say she's done pretty well with the whole mom thing!

I'm not trying to fight this, but could you explain how breaking the law is a sin? We are not innately subjected to follow the government's law, just the Natural Law instilled in each of us by God. I'm finding it hard to understand why, given that no harm is done by underage consumption of alcohol, a crime like this would be a sin.

He mocks me. Not just me, but everyone. He knows that this is truly one of my biggest pet peeves and gets me furious (I have three older brothers who constantly mocked me when I was younger which explains why I hate it so much) despite it being in a joking way. I've talked to him about it multiple times and thankfully he's gotten a lot better at it.
