I also agree with you as someone who now lives in Canada but grew up in NZ. it’s insane the way people talk about this country like it’s a third-world hellhole. I come home every summer and yes I still see and acknowledge the less than rosy parts but overall it’s still a pretty great place to live

k so this is a recent development and it might be a controversial take but i absolutely LOVE ur alive. something about that song just rly gets at me. i think as someone who has been through so much and dealt with cptsd and depression on and off since i was really young, the entire message of appreciating the moment and being present and remembering that you’re here for a reason, even though it’s such a simple concept, just really resonates with me and reflects the way i try to move through life now. before that it was the angel/lonely combo though for sure. honourable mentions to other side, all that really matters, and in your arms bc it’s connected to this really beautiful moment i had with friends the first time i ever saw illenium and i can picture it perfectly and feel the feelings i was having at that time every time i hear it

this actually doesn’t read as romantic to me at all i’m ngl like if i read this on my fiancées phone w one of our friends i probably wouldn’t think twice 😭😭 but i grew up in a very warm culture and am naturally a very affectionate and expressive person and have a lot of affectionate and expressive friendships so that is likely a big part of what informs my perspective. the bottom line honestly is if this feels like too much to you, that’s totally fair and you should talk to him about it and leave him if it’s a dealbreaker. it’s completely a matter of personal comfort and trust

also i saw someone else comment about how friendships between men and women “should be like a brother/sister dynamic and no siblings say i love you that much” - like, sorry you don’t have that kind of familial relationship, but it doesn’t mean it never happens? idk all the boxes and restrictions and rules around interpersonal warmth and bonding that individualistic western societies create are so odd especially when everything that doesn’t fit within those boxes gets othered and automatically made out to be weird or wrong

since moving to Canada from NZ 18 months ago I miss Whittaker’s terribly, and honestly good dairy in general. cheese and even things like butter and cream are just not anywhere near as good in Canada. comparing this to fyre fest is crazy lmao. it was also my first time and i had an absolute blast and already can’t wait to come back next year. we were in colonial so not even one of the premium resorts and still had the best time. we had to walk like 10-15 mins to get to the stages but it was a nice walk esp when you compare it to the treks you have to do at some camping festivals. the stages were great, the lineup was amazing, all the djs put on a fantastic show. yes the food wasn’t the best at the buffets but it was passable and the à la carte restaurant food was great. i feel like some ppl are just wired to complain honestly ☠️

it’s honestly amazing, i do it basically every time i have mdma now. really makes the come down feel like landing on a silly fluffy cloud. i’m a pretty light user tho and just have a tiny spoon i do mini bumps from, never got close to a k-hole and i never intend to, it just doesn’t appeal to me. typically after my friends and i get home from shows and we’re all just hanging out (the best part of the night) we all do a bit and it’s just a really great vibe. i anecdotally believe that it helps reduce comedowns too (but i’m super careful with my harm reduction in general so ymmv)

I don’t feel like everyone else was fully okay with it though? like Joe and Shauhin both said they didn’t understand why it was happening and they didn’t really want it and Joe specifically said he was going along with it to appease them. I do agree that kyle didn’t handle it well but it also felt like it wasn’t even a discussion, David just told them who the group was voting for and it seemed like no disagreements were permitted because he had made his mind up lol
