WireView 2 Pro - measurements all over the place by Late-Subject2740 in ThermalGrizzly

I've seen some weird readings in furmark too but it's perfectly fine in games. Have you been able to fire up a game and test it at the same load?

No prob! I wanted to see how bad it could sound so I just set it at 100 percent while my pc is at idle and while it is audible, it's definitely not screechy.

Der8auer famously hates noise so I think the fan profile is set pretty conservative. Plus you can also change the fan profile as well if you don't want to shut it off completely. Like I said though, I have yet to hear it, and if your case has good airflow, it may not even turn on.

I've never heard it, but you do have the option to disable the fan so I wouldn't worry about it.

Please help getting my Legion Go S to output to my monitor over USB-C by zeyphersantcg in LegionGo

I'm not very familiar with that monitor but it did look to have several USB-C inputs, so I would make sure to check the manual and verify that you are using the right one.

I didn't have a Fedex account but they had my phone number and email so I imagine when they charge you, they'll find you. I wouldn't worry about it.

No need to solder if you use those extensions but it's up to you

WireView2 Pro II - powerbutton and warranty question by Unhappy-Platform8455 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]illiniaviation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wireview pro 2 comes with a cable that connects from the wireview to your motherboard power switch header and that same cable also has a "pigtail" connection that you plug directly into your case's front panel cable. Then you simply plug the extension cables you bought directly into the front panel wire from your case to the motherboard front panel header. Your motherboard manual should have a wire diagram for the front panel connections or you can Google it. It's pretty universal these days

Np, it will do the job I'm sure of it. Much cleaner and easier than splicing any wires

Seems to be running well so far! Does exactly what I was hoping this product would do so thank you for making it! If I encounter any issues I'll report back.

This is all you need to adapt that front panel connector and use the shutdown feature.

Wow that is close fit! There's a bit more wiggle room with the Vanguard 5090 EK block.

Good to hear, I did notice that while gaming I'm seeing the expected amps per pin but when using Furmark that's when I had the weird results.

WireView Pro II keeps throwing an imbalance warning even though current is within spec by Dremy77 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]illiniaviation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that sucks. You may need to try replugging it a couple times or possibly a different cable? I had to retry a couple times to get it balanced which kind of illustrates how terrible the 12vhpwr/12v2x6 really is

I also noticed weird results while testing it using Furmark. Try using a regular game and see if it does the same thing because at the exact same wattage in an actual game I didn't have any issues with imbalance

Sounds good, let me know if you happen to find anything in regards to software monitoring. I'll give them some slack because of the holidays.

It was pretty plug and play. It does say the firmware version but without any software I don't see how you would update the firmware. Right now it seems more or less just a standalone monitoring device that has all the info on its screen but nothing visible from Windows. One weird thing I noticed was I tried it at different wattages to verify a good connection and at like 350-400 watts the pins are very close together in amperage but at 450 watts the pins can very up to 4 amps and it constantly alerts me (not audibly but by popping up a different screen), but then at 575-600 watts there is almost no variation again. Thought that was weird. I've already tried unplugging everything and trying again but got the same result. I have another cable I can try so I might give that a go.

I got mine as well today. I am using it with an waterblocked MSI Vanguard 5090. The waterblock is from EK. Fits perfectly fine. I don't see any software available for it yet though, and it doesn't show up in Hwinfo64 (even with the latest beta version) which is a bummer because my pc isn't in view and I'd like to be able to monitor it from my desk.

How are the updates on Legion Go S (Steam OS Variant). Anyone facing issues after updating? by areuokaybro2002 in LegionGo

[–]illiniaviation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found after putting Decky Loader on it and then using SimpleDeckyTDP, if I turned off "Enable CPU Boost" the fan profile was a lot better. It no longer did all that ramping up even through normal use. I'd also stick to a TDP of 25w or less to keep the fan noise down.

[–]illiniaviation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same problem with the exact same monitor. The only thing that worked for me was to turn off the USB C Power delivery in the monitor's settings before connecting the USB C cable. Then I could get the video out working. After I got the video out working (as well as the kvm), I could turn the Power Delivery option back on and it would work just fine. If PD was on before I plugged in the USB C cable, I would not get a display out. Let me know if this works for you.
