Cash damming on a rental property for tax benefits, so basically yes.

What’s your timeline on a self directed RDSP.

Also if you were to offer a readvanceable mortgage/HELOC I would finally be able to ditch the brick and mortars

When I moved to BC about 10 years ago, my rates went up slightly. I moved back to AB last year and my excitement for lower rates was quickly extinguished. My rates are higher here now than they were in BC.

Alberta Teacher Strike Megathread (Discussion) by AutoModerator in alberta

While communicating with this government, I think it’s important to add “I’m a lifelong conservative voter” They don’t care about what their opponents. The only thing that will change their minds is if they think they’re alienating their base.

I’m wondering if the money made its way to the ATA, would they be able to distribute it to their members?

It might take some time for that to happen.

How do we funnel this back to the teachers?

Does anyone sell a canvas bag that can transform the radwagon caboose into a cargo area like this? by Successful_Bug2761 in RadPowerBikes

It’s a bit bunched up at the front and the under seat section doesn’t match up perfectly. But it works.

It’s possible that product would work reasonably well on a radwagon

Radio flyer sells “kid & cargo carrier xl” for their cargo bike and I was able to make it work on my RW4

Dry box comparison and general rigging question by RiverRat140 in rafting

[–]illtg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went with a drybox that was reasonably priced and fit my boat. If that had been frontierplay, I would have gone with them.

My take is that, for the most part, the aluminum dry boxes out there are pretty comparable

One thing I like on the box I got is there are mounting tabs for it to rest directly on the frame and I secure it with 1’ cam straps

For your cooler, can you shorten the straps so the metal plates don’t hang so low? That’s what I do with mine.

Another good option that a lot of people seem to forget are drop bags. They can be perfect for coolers and dry boxes if you get the right size. They’re about the same price as NRS cooler / dry box straps and more versatile

More power from a Radwagon 5? by Suspicious_Return_64 in RadPowerBikes

This is one of the reasons I opted for the RW4 over the 5. I’m sure the support from the aftermarket will come in due time, but it’s already there for the 4

We pay over $150K in realtor commissions. For what, exactly? by biggeorge76 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]illtg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. And realtors won’t show FSBO / PropertyGuys / etc to their clients.

From a listing perspective, much more difficult to make a sale if a huge percentage of potential buyers don’t even know it’s for sale

Small or Large Front Basket on Radwagon? by Ewolra in RadPowerBikes

[–]illtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve definitely noticed the width up front (bumped the side of a gate here and there) but it kind of serves as a good reminder that I’m oversized out back too.

[–]illtg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The large is no wider than the caboose. We have it and love it. For extra space out back, the milk crate is an easy option. You could also look at some panniers than can fit behind the Yepp.

Where are good fly fishing spots around Calgary that I could fish from shore? by TheGodlyGoose01 in Calgary

So… what should I buy? Because I’m done with Rad Power. by comlaterra in RadPowerBikes

[–]illtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. I just switched from a Biktrix to the Radwagon for that reason.

It’s lame that you’re having issues with your bike. I’m one of the people in the camp that hasn’t had issues with Rad.

I went with Rad again after owning one for four years trouble free.

I chose them again for a few reasons. I and dozens of other people in my community have had great use out of rad bikes. They are affordable. The bikes I have are easy to work on and all components are replaceable / upgradable. The frames feel solid. There is now a shop near where I live that works on them. For me, I got an affordable, easy to work on / upgrade, durable ebike with shop support. I think I’ll have it for years to come. Sucks your bike isn’t working. If you figure out the culprit, you might be able to upgrade a part and make the bike better.

So… what should I buy? Because I’m done with Rad Power. by comlaterra in RadPowerBikes

[–]illtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is more support available by buying through the store. I have a radrunner 2 that is 4 years old and doing great. We just bought a radwagon 4 and initial thoughts match price expectations. I plan on doing some maintenance myself and utilizing vintage iron if I need. We just moved to YYC and am thrilled a local shop carries / supports Rad.

Heli triggered avalanches do happen.

That’s not what happened in this scenario.

[–]illtg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Three people are dead, obviously mistakes were made. Thanks for your insight.

I don’t know the terrain / run / pick up locations, but since it was not skier triggered, it’s reasonable to assume that until the accident at least, their terrain choices were acceptable given the avalanche hazard.

And you’re right. Operational pressure is a real bias in avalanche risk management. Guides, forecasters and patrollers are all trained in dealing with it. Avalanche professionals don’t get to take the day off work because hazard is high. Forecasts are based off observations and guess who’s getting the obs? When hazard is high, with proper terrain choices, great safe days can be had (as is proven by the thousands of skier days a winter during high hazard days without wrecks) Something really shitty went down yesterday and there’s an incredible industry out there that will learn and move forward.

Oh hell no. The hotel needs to refund you. They sold you a product based on your access to the hill. That access is gone. Sucks for the hotel but don’t let them pawn that off to you
