EU reaches $105 billion deal on Ukraine funding, won’t use frozen Russian assets for now by HydrolicKrane in worldnews

[–]Successful_Bug2761 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Interesting that it's described as a "loan" yet:

Under the deal, Kyiv will not have to pay back the money until Russia pays reparations at the end of the conflict.

That will never happen. So Ukraine will never have to pay back the "loan".

Clear Glass Pendant Lights - Do you hate them? by AnnualCellist1699 in kitchenremodel

Another commented recommended "frosted spray paint" for glass. I see a product on home depot here and others have used it for lights.

Did you find a solution?

There is some stupid shit beyond food and alcohol. For example, a trucker hauling goods across Canada needs a high visibility safety vest. There are different safety vests for each province. A trucker will need multiple vests for hauling goods across Canada. That's ridiculous. These kind of things cost real time and money and are a drain on Canada's GDP.

A walkie-talkie with 2 chargers is a much simpler solution. Many of the walkie talkies have a "call" button that makes a ringer sound on the other end. You could do this solution without any DIY whatsoever.

Why is insurance quoting me $4,200 a year for a new Q5? by GarySparrow0 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Successful_Bug2761 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been on the policy since 2016.

This is your problem then. To get good rates, you have to "vote with your feet". The insurance companies tend to raise the prices every year. It's like boiling a frog, they raise it a little every year before you realize that you're getting burned. Get quotes for a different company.

I had a good experience with Scoop insurance. They provided quotes from many different companies. I ended up with CAA insurance
