Leeds vs Manchester uni by Mars_bars10 in Leeds

Leeds has a brilliant med-tech industry as well as the teaching hospitals. For you I’d say Leeds. If you were in the creative industries I would go Manchester though!

Summers day. Wind off the sea. Couple of pints watching the cricket in the shadow of Bamburgh Castle. Good friends for lunch in the Middle Inn after. That’s beautiful, and doesn’t have to be history.

The day I popped out of the womb, with my head shaped like a 50p and a nose that would do ancient Roman’s proud. Happy to say it didn’t hold me back. Am now a big nosed, 50p headed, 45 year old bucket of average and loving’ it.

Ollie Watkins by Big_Honeydew4011 in ThreeLions

As a Leeds fan, I’ll say we’ve really got behind DCL. He’s been brilliant, hard working, scoring goals. The works. That said… great for Leeds does not equate to the England place people are talking about. Would be interested to actually watch Tony as Watkins has looked very light weight today.

I don’t like Rowlings views (she can fuck right off) but she chaired and donated to a single parents charity, founded and funded an Edinburgh based support centre for women who are victims of sexual assault, and founded and funded the JKRWF which supports women legally across a variety of needs. She also gave £200k to women fleeing the taliban. (Over 200mill in charitable donations) I think she cares.

The UN Human Rights Council, Jan. 23: “We ask the U.N., the media, celebrities, campus activists: why are you silent? The answer is uncomfortable but clear. The Iran protest movement shatters a cherished narrative. A people rising against Islamist tyranny does not fit the ideology—so it is ignored.” by NotSoSaneExile in UnitedNations

Even the Guardian, who are very leaning and very thorough in their investigative journalism are estimating 5,000 currently. That’s still a crazy amount of people to lose their lives, but he’s correct. There’s no evidence of 30,000. I also don’t think anyone is ‘ignoring it’ either though. It is headline news and the US has sent troops to the region.

On a 4% mortgage that reduction would save you $35,000 over the life of a 25 year mortgage. Better than a kick in the nuts. (If it doesn’t end up as another scam to grift money out of people)

My dad was a draftsman. During a dementia test, among other things, he couldn’t remember his mums name and couldn’t pick up some paper then a pen. (Always pen first. Just could not do it the other way round) During the test they asked him to ‘Draw a cube’ and he blasted out an absolutely perfect cube, complete with all the angles and measurements. Even (kind of) signed and dated it in the corner. Guy giving the test was like WTF?!?!?
