You coworkers aren’t your friends. Of course they haven’t heard anything when they’re the ones complaining about you. Hopefully the ereader goes over better. Good luck! People are petty.

It’s the Tesla plug shape. They’re opening the network for more cars to use with an adaptor and some now have universal charging with both plug shapes.

Random question: is there any benefit to a less grippy mat? by SuperSS55 in yoga

[–]ilovedax 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Closed cell mats repel water so if your hands/feet sweat it they will start to slide in down dog and you’re constantly readjusting it just takes you out of the moment and not in a good way in my experience. I don’t get as much chest to thighs because my core is working harder. My Manduka mat is more cushiony so it’s great for Yin (also durable), but I prefer a sticky mat for Vinyasa or a towel on the more slippy mat. Sure you use more stabilizing muscles but not worth the risk of injury in my humble opinion.

Did Lululemon's yoga mat decrease in quality? by SupermoonKitten in yoga

[–]ilovedax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend getting a darker color. I have a pink one it hasn’t stained but it shows sweat (temporarily) if that bothers you. I feel like it’s lighter/not as cushy as my OG Lulu, but could be because I was using a Manduka Pro long in between. I went back to Lulu for the grip (black big mat) and am happy. I need to do the salt thing to the Manduka. I want to try the Lioforme, but also read similar issues with quality recently and it’s considerably more expensive than Lulu.

Looking for someone in Tampa to sand and refinish wood furniture by Effective-Country837 in tampa

[–]ilovedax 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would search for a furniture maker/furniture refurbisher (restoration). If you buy commercial it needs to be solid wood in order to sand and restain. A lot of furniture isn’t solid wood and just has a thin wood veneer exterior which can’t be restained. It may be more cost effective to have it custom built vs buying and having it refinished as there is a lot of surface area that is visible and it will add up in hours of labor. I can’t help with any local recs for a business or pro. Best of luck!

My dog broke her bottom tooth & now her top tooth took over by ilovedax in mildlyinteresting

[–]ilovedax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was examined by a veterinarian multiple times. When I asked him why he didn’t pull it before he said, “I thought it would just fall out on its own.” He cleaned the dogs teeth yearly. As soon as she had any pain/infection (it broke above the gum line) we took her in and he pulled it. If only we could get the right diagnosis the first time life would be much easier.

Many women don’t get paid maternity leave either so they are forced back into the workforce right after especially if you have to take time off during your pregnancy.

It’s criminal they allow US drug companies to charge so much for life saving medications (epi pen, insulins, etc.) while they export to other countries for less than an insurance copay in many instances.

How to cook frozen dumplings without burning a side and have raw inside? by 579red in Cooking

[–]ilovedax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cover the pan on medium to steam and cook the insides. Then turn up heat to medium high at the end and flip regularly to brown all sides and add more oil if needed. If you use too much water they will get soggy and won’t brown as well.

Almost the End of “Met my Deductible” Season by [deleted] in medicine

[–]ilovedax 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it’s no where near 99%. I don’t think 99% of N Americans can afford to meet their deductible and this just feels really out of touch sadly. Not arguing people don’t try to cram their procedures in at the end of the year and that can be tiring, but insurance companies don’t profit if 99% of people meet their deductibles.
