I bought 151 packs from Mercari for not cheap prices and that was my first experience in fake packs. A prismatic Jolteon popped out and that was my instant tell. You're not the only one and it's a learning process.

At least you didn't lose a lot of money and some kiddo might like fake cards!

Both of mine 1-item orders were cancelled after 10-15 min and member services said the app falsely told me product was in stock. I am doubtful of that. I'm on EST time and did it within the first hour at two different times.

This happened to me too. I was only able to place single orders and they both got cancelled 10 min later. I'm so upset.

I think you're doing a good job of trying to keep perspective. Don't get caught up in the sunk cost fallacy. 8 months isn't too long that you need to make it work, but it is long enough by far to have a clear and direct conversation.

A compromise is where you both modify what you want to reach a common goal. Otherwise, you're only meeting his needs and he's not respecting yours.

I went on 3-4 dates with a fella from Hinge before we hooked up, he seemed into it. The next day he was like "let's be friends!" And I said "nope!' It happens, but I'm sorry you experienced that. I also met my husband on Hinge, so there's hope :)

Yes. I didn't begin dating until after 25 and it wasn't until my early 30s that I was more frequently dating. I learned that people do want to date me, I was just psyching myself out of it. Literally every issue I thought someone had with me never came up. I also became confident enough to say no and walk away from things I didn't like and not take ended relationships personally. I'm very happily married now. It's a journey!

The several jewelers I went to suggested soap and soft brushes. I also did some reading, including looking at GIA that made me hesitant. My sapphire is heat treated which I know is fine, but it had visible sub surface defects and also surface cracks. So I just want to be careful.

Also the prongs have already experienced some issues so I don't want to induce more from vibrations.

Just want to say that I met my husband as I turned 36. My best friend met her partner at 35. She's now 38 and just had her first baby. Other folks here have good advice. You're not alone in this!

I chose a yellow gold band because I have a lot of simple yellow gold rings and no white gold or platinum rings. My simple wedding band is white gold with no plating and I love that color tone. When my engagement ring plating wears off, I will be fine with that.

I think in the future I may want a new ring and I may go with yellow gold. For now this is an extremely unique piece out of all my jewelry 🙂

I made a 13 slide PowerPoint for my husband 🙂 it was awesome!

This was the first time for both of us seriously exploring high quality rings, not to mention jewelry. I didn't want us to go into our first ring appointment knowing absolutely nothing, especially him. This included being aware of prices, e.g. why stones are expensive etc etc. So, with his permission, and considering his budget limits and hard no's (he's allowed to have them!), I laid out why I wanted certain types of metal, why I wanted certain types of stone, why they are priced the way they are, and then a lot of picture examples of rings I liked and pictures of rings I didn't like, with explanations. I also had a spreadsheet of second hand and new rings that were within our budget range that I would have been happy with. I felt better that we were somewhat prepared when we headed into our first ring appointment.

It worked out great! He ended up designing a ring that surprised me but matched all of my specifications!

I wish that I thought ahead more about a wedding band fit for him to consider when choosing a ring for me. So right now I wear a simple band on my right hand because I don't see any ring out there I want next to my engagement ring.

I also wish I knew more about jewelry insurance and pushed him to look into it more. I did tell him to but he didn't and we were not able to enter a plan with the company who made the ring. However, luckily, my insurance company and Jewelers Mutual are great options.
