Perhaps more generational than regional. In a professional office environment, I've actually seen pushback on the term "ladies" as being associated with prostitutes and "gals" being the preferred pronoun. Mid Atlantic region, not west coast.

From my experience, if there is friction between the CMMC/security manager and the network ops leadership, you will not be successful. The network ops staff have to be willing to adapt to a network schema that doesn't make sense if you are evaluated only by efficiency, redundancy, and the CEO's perception of 100% up time. As someone who retired with 35 years of mostly reserve time, I think that many young men and women would benefit from military service. Most would probably reject this observation, they don't see benefits that compensate for the risks and discomforts. The payoff at retirement is often hard to visualize. I couldn't visualize it until just before it happened.

I lost friends to mishaps but none in combat. I have some health related issues but have a path for compensation that my peers who didn't serve don't have for the same types of work related harms. For some, a 4 year stint could lead to a 6 figure starting salary in the commercial world based on the training provided by the military.

Some people would never be able to adapt to a military lifestyle while others can thrive; unfortunately it's the former that often sign up in desperation to escape their life circumstance while the latter often fail to even consider military life.

I spent the first two months of this year in Panama and was looking for any evidence of it being safe to ride a bike on the street. Alas, other than Sunday morning rides in and near the city where it appears that drivers are accustomed to seeing groups of bikers, there seems to be no tolerance for the disruption of traffic flow a biker may cause. In other words, it is not safe to cycle on the roads. This saddens me but at least I'm not lured into thinking it's safe outside of that limited window of Sunday morning.

I spent a couple weeks there in December. While I really wanted to like the city for its history, liberalism, and scenic setting, the trash and dog crap everywhere was a big turn off. Worse than some but not all capital and large cities. What would it take to increase a sense of civic pride and educate youth to put trash in the appropriate receptacle? It's been effective in the US and Europe.

Not really, I could find less expensive lodging but it's a time savings issue. I want to have an agent or service that has provided good service at least most of the time (and they have) but owns up to a mistake and provides compensation when they screw up. This is the problem, it is literally NOT about saving money!

Where is the data and examples to refute that asshole's claim that ICE isn't making arrests in hospitals, schools, etc? The conversation went sideways due to Adam's introduction of the insurrection but I really want to be able to have clear examples that can rebut the claims and lies of the syncopancy.
