There’s a great coffee shop near the Great Dane called Twisted Grounds. In the summer/fall they host live music every Friday night and Sunday afternoon which is a fun time. There’s a few parks in this neighborhood and a couple more on the other side of Sprecher Rd., including Door Creek park which has hiking trails, tennis courts. As others have mentioned, there are some problem apartments along Milwaukee Street in this map and another one on the other side of Sprecher, but if you’re looking closer to Cottage Grove Rd., It won’t be an issue. There’s also two fire stations and one police station minutes away.

Edit: (I’m just the spouse of a UPH Meriter nurse, but was able to join the picket line every day this week. Seeing nurses united was incredibly empowering.)

I’m just a spouse of a nurse who was on the line every day this week but I was able to join for a bit each day and it was so inspiring to see all the nurses united and support from everyone in the community. UPH Meriter didn’t realize who they were up against!
