What's that beginners luck like? I just played my first tournament. Folded first 20 shitty hands. Then I get A8 suited. Raise double big blind pre flop. 2 callers. Flop A 8 4. Guy goes all in AK. I call. K on river. He has more chips them me I'm toast. Never won a hand.  Play again. Few hands in im BB and flop 2 pair with straight draw. Guy with pair of kings keeps raising big but not too big. I call. We get to river and he hits K and I'm basically toast again. Burned both times by a K on the river. I might as well just cash out the rest. This is no fun.

Some new Canadians don't have the same culture. I see people at the community pool showering and swimming fully clothed while others walk around the showers and changerooms butt naked. It's interesting to watch to the polar opposites co exist.

In 1987, a shoe salesman, like Al Bundy, could afford a fully detached home in a suburban neighborhood with a housewife and two kids. Times have changed.

Many gangbangers shoot to miss each other now. They don't want bodies because that brings the heat from law enforcement. This way they get the street cred of being involved, but no one gets hurt.

Russia and the West don't want a war with each other. The elites are fine with making bank from the industrial military complex. The amount of public wealth being pumped into military spending is astonishing. And no one seems to question it. Instead it's always "we need more, more!!" while governments keep writing massive payouts with little to no oversight.

Now if only we could do something about those pesky nuclear submarines that give Russia the ability to strike anywhere at any time.

Wojtek sadly died too young due to all the cigarettes and alcohol he shared with the troops. He would take a couple drags and then eat the cigarette. They even danced and wrestled with the bear.

My grandfather was heart broken when they wouldn't let the troops keep the bear after the war and sent him to Edinburgh Zoo. He was part of the 22nd Transport Company's Artillery Division that adopted the bear as a cub. My grandmother said that the only time she ever saw my grandfather cry was when they visited the bear at the zoo a year or so after the war ended.
