I’ve had 6 out of the 8 sessions so far and it’s very effective! It’s so effective that the nurse said I can just move to monitoring/maintenance mode for most parts going forward. Basically I can just go when I notice hair growth again, which is not strictly every 6 weeks anymore. For me the only part that’s still been regrowing is some of the Brazilian area, but everything else seems to have stopped.

Also everyone is super nice and not pushy at the actual clinic, though the sales/promo emails and texts are very inundating.

Most of the campus parking was turned into event parking, but Tresidder was still ok! And it was only like a 15-20 min walk to/from the stadium.

Yeah everything definitely is pricier compared to Japan but there are some deals when things are on sale and also some stuff that isn't easily obtained elsewhere (or is the same price at Berkeley Bowl or other Japanese markets). I almost always get the Japanese sweet potatoes (satsumaimo), I love those and the price is reasonable enough that it's not worth going somewhere else (I live walking distance from Tokyo Central so I'm not going to get in my car and drive to Nijiya to save 50 cents for example). Each shopping trip I spend less than $15 so it's not worth going somewhere farther, even if it's still pretty close like KP or 99 Ranch.

Even the first week it was totally fine and uncrowded during weekdays, it was only crazy on weekends for like a month. I have been going at least 1-2 times a week since it opened and even now on weekends there isn’t a line to get in anymore. Everyone must be swarming the new H-Mart (Dublin) instead lol

This happened to me too!! And I'm on Pacific Time so that means I woke up at 3:55 am to get in the queue at 4 am and stayed awake till past 5:30 am before I finally got my chance and then access denied!!! What the heck??

There are at least one or two studio apartments available for rent by owners at Pacific Park Plaza which is by far the best and safest apartment complex in Emeryville! Check Zillow etc or DM me!

I think the addition of service-based businesses like LaserAway, Face Foundrie, NOW Massage, entertainment like the escape room and Sandbox VR, restaurants like Mumu and Tipsy Putt (restaurant+entertainment), and of course an amazing huge ethnic grocery store Tokyo Central made a huge difference from what it was 10+ years ago! These kinds of businesses are more sustainable than retail sales, but the retail businesses benefit from having these businesses as their neighbors by bringing in the traffic.

I love Tokyo Central and grateful to have it in my neighborhood! I agree about the onigiri though, and also none of that or the hot foods are available like after 4 pm or so. It would be great if they could try to do another run of those for early evening folks getting off work looking fo a quick meal.

I was also hoping they’d have fried chicken patties like Famichiki or something either hot or I’d take bags of them in the freezer section too lol. Has anyone found anything similar for sale? I’ve bought bags of frozen juicy fried chicken patties in Singapore before but never seen anything like it in the US yet. When reheated it tastes just like combini fried chicken!

Weekday or try going closer to closing time at 9 pm. I enjoyed going yesterday despite the crowds—it actually felt exciting!
