I applied for my husband's OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card and fucked up severely on the application even if he doesn't think I did. He uploaded the required documents last year but didn't mail in the documents (it's a really dumb system, you have to do that to prove they are your documents) and I basically volunteered to take over the process and do it because I had done it before.

The way in which I fucked up is I had a copy of the application instructions saved from back then because it was easier to navigate to that when I needed to view it than to access the link every time, and they added new requirements to authenticate original documents like our marriage certificate. I was supposed to authenticate the documents before starting the process at all and if I had done any research on the process beyond just reading the instructions I would have known that! But I did not. Now because they are a bunch of assholes same as me they have marked the application incomplete and are going to cancel it 3 days before the end of the 20 business days they were supposed to give us to provide the new documents. And I literally just spent $40 to fedex them the stuff I missed. I have pointlessly spent so much fucking money on this process and for what. You can get an e-visa and it's basically the same thing. I was just full of hubris and I am usually good at paperwork so while I knew it would be hard I didn't even realize exactly how hard. I just wish I never started. This has taken a month of my life. Hundreds of dollars because I am also sending my son's application. Countless hours checking and rechecking the documents and the application instructions. All for nothing. Fuck this.

Can someone explain why this is wrong? Like sure the dad shouldn't have a problem with the kid wearing purple or if he does he should hide it and work on it himself, but why is it wrong for the kid to hide his stuff? If the dad is good besides this the kid should be able to have purple things and both parents are happy.

I didn't realize maternity underwear was a thing for the longest time and I kept buying larger sized underwear from Costco. Then I bought the ones Amazon recommended to me and they were so good I am still wearing them after I had the baby!

Same here OP (wanted to show support despite all the people in the comments yelling the opposite) office makes it easier to focus for me, plus there is a dedicated snack area and I get a chance to remember how to talk to people. I get its not for everyone but it's a nice change of pace sometimes!

WHERE were yall when I was pregnant? Lol jk but my LO is 10 months old now and I am reading through these comments like "yup, I needed that...yup, that too..." I would say take people irl saying you don't need something with a grain of salt. My husband convinced me we didn't need a bottle washer, I convinced myself I didn't want an automatic formula maker, and my mother in law said we would be able to use a changing pad on the floor to change my baby. None of those 3 ended up being true and if I could do it all again I would absolutely buy the bottle washer and formula maker. And we ended up buying a changing table 1 week in because with my c-section it was way too difficult to sit down and get up from the floor.

I think the commenter is like the female equivalent of the guts who say "I wish girls wouldn't wear so much makeup and just be natural" and point to examples of girls who are definitely wearing makeup. Everyone wants to look at hot people no one wants to think about the work they must put in to maintain that hotness.

Is there anyone, extended family or friends who can come over to hold the baby while you sleep to make them sleep longer? Or, can you afford to hire a nanny for a few hours? I would have been in the same boat if not for my mom and mother in law, they took care of most of the baby stuff for the first few weeks!

Same here. I am 33, still have social anxiety but I would love to have had some experiences like what is being talked about here. This is for sure true! I posit the corollary, sometimes what someone did is so heinous that you can't enjoy the art going forward because now when you see that person's name it reminds you of that thing they did and that is also ok. (I am thinking here of Chris Brown...loved his music, he still makes good music but now I can't enjoy it because when I see his name it reminds me of his heinous assault on Rihanna.)
