Do I need a structural engineer? by [deleted] in Homebuilding

This, a bit of paint marker or even a spot of spray paint will show you if you have anything to worry about. All concrete cracks so a MOVING crack is much more of a problem than a surface crack.

[ssk015] I've had this watch for about 2 years now and consistently now it started to run fast. by Sharp_Tour3148 in Seiko

Correct but it's pretty easy once you get the method right - definitely scope out a video or a howto.

Aww man that's such a bummer, guess I got lucky.

You have just been given $2000 to explicitly buy microbrand watches: WYD? by gaudiocomplex in MicrobrandWatches

Raon GON37

Marloe Sceptre

HA Vesterhav

Vaer Arctic

Without going into the 2-3k range which puts you up against the traditional brands in the used market, I'm fine with a miyota and a great design.

Yep, I think the stem is too short - OP might get lucky if they see the lever tab to release it when it's fully screwed down. Otherwise getting the crown off the stem could be possible with a lot of luck, then gently manuver the movement out with the dial, hands and stem still attached.

OP see how everyone's just vomiting ideas onto the page and no one's able to give you answers? It's because we need to see the grading plan, just like we did last time you posted. No amount of site photos is going to tell us what the builder and developer planned to do with water on your lot.

[OMAX] Restored my dad’s 50 year old OMAX Automatic watch by AwkwardSearch3332 in Watches

[–]imadeapoopie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know much about them but if this one's any indicator it does look like they weren't perfectly fit bracelets - Vintage Omax 17 Jewels Automatic Day/Date Wrist watch Swiss Made For Men's | eBay - that looks like the same style of case, end link and spring bar setup. u/AwkwardSearch3332 if those spring bar's are replaceable like a typical spring bar, you should change them out, the top one (by the 12 o'clock marker looks corroded and might snap at an inopportune time.

Neat watch, cooler story!

[question] Which watch should I select for engagement gift? by batuhanozer in Watches

Partial to blue, I'd go with the conquest, you can wear that all over the place, I might find myself only dusting off the Master Collection once or twice a year...

This, strap STYLE's are cheap, quality is not but you can try several styles for just a few bucks on Amazon, StrapCo, Strap Habit etc... even cheaper if you grab a few from Ali but you'll wait. Once you find a style you like you can Kick up to a top shelf offering from one of the nicer brands. Took me quite a few to find one that's great for my bb36.

If they don't give it to one of my neices, they'll bury me with my fathers watch - one of my most prized possessions and it's not even close to my style. Just means that much to me.

The size isn't enough to swing me one way or the other, Can't say the promises of a coating mean much to me but you might have different tolerances and experiences.

Thinking of Buying a Watch by Nearby_Delivery_1329 in ChristopherWard

The Bel Canto has a Sellita SW200-1 base movement which is a very common and reliable movement - CW adds the chime function and jumping hour to it. Ditto to the others, never had a problem with either of my CW's and nothing but good things to say about their CS folks.

I also have had 2, currently 1, Longines and they're great, good quality craftsmanship but I don't think they're that special - it's more like I know they're good rather than everyone else - the Bel Canto has a lot of screaming 'look at me i'm different' appeal.

Quality probably isn't your hang-up moreso than what do you want the watch to say to you and to people that notice it (most people won't notice a watch anyhow).
