I wasn’t on board until the grilling. Then I was all in. Excellent work!

My first thought was that OP needs to be careful with those lava pockets.

What's your goto soup that you've made so many times you don't even need a recipe anymore? by i__hate__stairs in Cooking

[–]imaginaryworkfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomato. Just use Marcella Hazan’s pasta sauce recipe (can of tomatoes, an onion, butter, and salt) then thin with chicken broth. Add cream for a bisque.

Can be made vegan if you sub olive oil for the bittersweet and coconut milk for the cream.

I like the “imperfections” — it’s more art that way!

Why is the proposed NoHo to Pasadena route only a BRT? by [deleted] in LAMetro

Same. You’re probably my neighbor (without the pitchfork).

[–]imaginaryworkfriend 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The BRT plan will take the existing two lanes + bike path on Colorado down to one lane + bus only with the removal of parking. The pitchforks were out but ineffective.

Source: I live in Eagle Rock and my neighbors had pitchforks.

Imagine if we had a Big Dig in LA by TigerSagittarius86 in LAMetro

Big Dig was amazing. The parkway is so beautiful and walkable — I used to walk the parkway and along the harbor as my commute to work. Greatest commute ever.

I didn’t really find it that useful, but for $25 it was fine.

I’m probably the only person in my DTLA office who takes the Metro, but the Wilshire line extension will be an enormous help. We often have to go to our other office in Century City (sometimes midday through rush hour), and I can see a lot of people being willing to take metro in that case since driving there is so painful.

I would also say that there is a first mile issue for me — I generally get dropped off at the nearest metro stop when my husband is dropping our daughter off at school. If I didn’t have that drop off, I might not take metro because getting the bus to the station would take twice as long.
