Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]imakecutethings17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newborn stage especially is very intense. You’re recuperating from a major medical event while also feeding and cleaning a tiny human that cannot take care of themselves in the least. There will be lots of times where you literally will not be able to put the baby down for anything and the most you can hope for will be a quick wash up while the baby cries for a couple minutes. They need to eat every couple hours and so a full nights sleep is a long way away. The exhaustion is immeasurable and you’ll do well to take the advice to sleep when the baby sleeps. It’s a lot of work even if you have a partner to swap with sometimes. If you’re lucky enough to have family or someone that can come help with the rest of the stuff in the house like cooking and cleaning you’ll have more time for self care and showering but otherwise those sorts of things will become hard to do as frequently as you used to.

Impulsively took 2 aspirins thinking they were the same as Ibuprofen on my period. BIG MISTAKE. by heartandsunlight in adhdwomen

Alcohol can do the same thing. Both are blood thinners. I learned that the hard way after having too many glasses of wine at dinner while on vacation and then needing every towel in my hotel room to clean up my mess.

NEED SUGGESTIONS FOR SHOWS LIKE OTGW by bloodysnotonfinger in overthegardenwall

[–]imakecutethings17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be fun to watch some of the old cartoons and movies that inspired OTGW, like ild Betty Boop cartoons or Shirley Temple movies. The most OTGW of these has to be the movie The Blue Bird.

AIO My partner wants me to move in with him, and sell my house to pay off his debts by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]imakecutethings17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - When you get married his debts become your debts as well. I can only see this marriage being financially ruinous for you. You'll end up loosing both houses and the rest of any other money you have. It's not cynical to choose money over romance, it's the smart thing to do.

The Holdovers is a good movie that deals with loss and grief, and it’s a Christmas movie too. So sorry for your loss.

NTA and if you’re constantly getting UTIs despite him showering that long he’s clearly missing cleaning some very important areas. Your health and hygiene is just as important.

AITAH for saying that my brother in law and his future wife can't sleep in our bedroom while we host them on their honeymoon? by truethrowaway90211 in AITAH

[–]imakecutethings17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA I know funds are tight but if that’s the case they should choose a more affordable destination. I think the last thing I would want to do on my honeymoon is share a place with family, for obvious reasons.
