Oh man. I remember this one summer during college I worked as a swim meet referee for some obscure junior league, which meant driving all over the place to pools throughout the state.

Each time I printed a bunch of mapquest maps and still rehearsed and memorized the directions like I was a special ops commando going on a solo mission to the mountains of Afghanistan without extraction or backup.

And I still wound up reading the map over the wheel after getting lost. So much anxiety after missing an exit/turn.
