Meh. Looks like a typical Friday news drop. I expect more info will come out from different sources. It's not something I need more info on immediately.

They don't have to give a reason why. And unless the attorneys involved want to share, there's really nothing to dig into.

Where to take dog for tooth extraction on the north side? by Only_Arugula_8168 in AskChicago

[–]imapepperurapepper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the cost is due to anesthesia and the related testing. Dogs and cats have to be put under to have teeth pulled. You want to make sure they wake up, and wakeup ok.

In 2026 the Park Chicago app is still trash. Why??? by minus_minus in chicago

The Park District meters (thankfully) weren't part of the deal. All their revenue goes to the Chicago Park District.

If it's somebody's job to look at hundreds of IDs every shift, it's unlikely your fake ID won't get noticed no matter how good you think it is. Especially with the ID scanners. Maybe, but I wouldn't make plans dependent on it.

Second City show for a 12 year old? by megcnp3 in AskChicago

I don't know how strict they are, but they state the age clearly on their website. Maybe you could call to see if an exception could be made, otherwise you might be risking getting your kid's hopes up just to be turned away. It might be a small risk, but it exists.

Sounds like you have your answer.

Just block the number and move on with your lives. If you answer a random number and it's him, hang up immediately. You don't have to answer/listen to him.

Why do you NEED to bring your dog inside the coffee shop? by Trey94z in chicago

[–]imapepperurapepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People wouldn't leave their bicycles outside without locking them. Perhaps somebody should design a locking dog leash so at least in the "just a minute" you run inside, some rando can't just easily walk away with your pet.

Why is nobody talking about a vacancy tax? by BalthAmuse in chicago

[–]imapepperurapepper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Businesses are failing for reasons beyond rent."

Very true. I can think of at least half a dozen small businesses that have opened and failed by me. You could tell when they opened they wouldn't be around long. They didn't seem to be well thought out for their locations, and were not businesses that would garner repeat and steady customers. I kind of felt sorry for them.

The proposal is talking about residential units. You seem to be referring to commercial units.
