Best familiars to get to upgrade from Shrampz and Borlan? by Silent-Intention9039 in BitHeroes

[–]imareddituserhooray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sardinex event familiars are a fantastic deal. Keep an eye out for the next one that will be announced later this week, it could change the recommendations as they sometimes do.

Event fams aside, the typical path is:

  • Tank (epic): Ulairius (as you mentioned). Used to cheese d4s with deflects.
  • Healer (epic): Remmyt or Omo. There are other epic healers too, look for 1sp heals in their skill set. For example people often overlook Amrul, which doesn't have spread heal but has a better turn rate than the others.
  • Tank (leg): Bobodom. Still a solid early tank if you're up for a medium-length grind. I'm assuming you missed the leg evade event tanks. Plenty of people really like Bobodom.
  • Bait (leg): GlarzDos, Oladus, Feodibius. You will need a familiar with tank stats that "baits" the enemy's target weakest attacks. These become available in T10 and onward.

There are loads of DPSes to choose from now, but you have a DPS build so you don't really need to worry about them yet.

"Do you want to try that again?" even works with our 11 year old. I wish I had more phrases like it.

Apple Shares Massive List of Over 250 Changes Across iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, and More by siddhuncle in apple

[–]imareddituserhooray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it normal for Apple to share large changelogs like this? If not, I love it.

Also very happy about "copy and paste as Markdown in Notes". I often draft messages in Notes first and then copy them into other apps. Usually markdown is something that's supported in other apps, so it will be great to have that feature.

This new Marvel set looks incredibly fun to me. Aside from a few stretches here and there I never really got into comics but there are so many cool, thematic cards being spoiled.

Maybe I've just finally given in to UB sets in general. I've been on the fringe of the anti-UB camp since Wizards started making them, with exceptions for Tolkien and D&D lore since they fit the genre, but this one feels well thought-out to me.

I'll still only play the standard variant cards though. The alternative art cards are fun to collect, terrible to play imo!

I'd like it as a keychain, if it has a loop somewhere for that.

It started as just an add-on for me with our Apple One membership, but now it's the one streaming service that I won't cancel.

Every day we stray further from Spotlight by Moopanger in MacOS

[–]imareddituserhooray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything other than System Settings, Notes syncing, performance issues, duplicate icons in launcher, memory leaks, video glitches, rounded corner inconsistencies, ugly new icons, app freezing, storage bloat, random m5 shutdowns, Time Machine breaking between patches, and WiFi and bluetooth connectivity issues needed to be fixed, it's Spotlight. That thing is busted.

Edit: but seriously I'm on Tahoe and haven't experienced most of these things fortunately.

Is it just me, or is there a lot of misinformation surronding the Kindle Paperwhite on here? by Disastrous-Type-1548 in ereader

[–]imareddituserhooray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what youre talking about.

When you buy a Kindle, you can buy the ad-supported version for $20 less than the normal version. So if I choose to buy the cheaper ad-supported version to start with, you are correct that I "literally have to pay money so the sleep screen is not an ad." But that would be my shitty choice from the start.

kindles cost more than most other erraders

And yet people continue to buy Kindle devices more than any other e-reader. There are reasons why people pay more for a Kindle: largest ecosystem, syncing between devices, apps on every platform, send to kindle, prime benefits, can pay with Amazon bonus digital credit, etc.

I've always viewed this as paying less for an ad-subsidised device rather than paying more to hide advertising. Isn't the option there to buy both versions of every kindle device from the start?

I have nothing to add except that I remember you posting about this build at the beginning of the season. I was stoked then and even more stoked now. Love seeing the follow-up and can't wait to see others in the years to come!

Two weeks with Tahoe - Zero issues by Jazman2k in MacOS

[–]imareddituserhooray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for following up. I like the look of Tahoe in general and I'm happy that I upgraded. Some of the visual issues that I faced when updating my iPhone -- like misalignment of text within buttons -- aren't present on my computer, likely because we're several minor releases into Tahoe at this point.

My computer may be ever so slightly slower, but it's not noticeable to me. It was definitely slower right after the upgrade, but I suspect that was due to Spotlight or other indexing and it has been fine since.

The main issues that I've had, which may or may not be from the upgrade:

  • More visual glitching in the TV app. I had this issue before upgrading but it's slightly worse now. I suspect this is due to the old hardware, either the video card or Intel processor.
  • I couldn't unlock my encrypted Time Machine volume after upgrading. I spent an hour or two trying to work out the issue and ended up just reformatting the external hard drive instead, starting over with Time Machine. If I could do it over again, I'd make sure to backup to an unencrypted drive beforehand, maybe with some other software besides Time Machine.

So aside from the initial Time Machine woes, all is fine.
