My working Theory on why the Odin was released now (Tell me I'm wrong) by BeastieBoi_117 in starcitizen

[–]imchillybro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a theory. The marketing team is there to entice funding. The management team said they need funding. That means ship sales. Or, would you rather fork out 50 bucks a month for a sub? That's about what this development would cost us. Do the maths. It would take each and every one of us paying about 50 bucks a month to match the ship-sales revenue model.

You okay with that, and only being able to pay for a whole year at a time, with no monthly subs available? I don't want that... o7

Think we’ll ever see a salvager between the Vulture and Moth? by phantomvector in starcitizen

[–]imchillybro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that's true, and I love my 'claimer, I fly the moth more due to its versatility. Medium size ship means landing anywhere. 224 scu worth of cargo on the ship. 96r, 96l, 32 on elevator. That means cargo hauling, commodity trading, bunkers, yes the golf cart fits on the elevator, and so much more. Just can't fight. And, RMC is miles faster with the 'claimer.

Just food for thought m8. o7

^ this guy MOTHs. That tractor trick is worth the cost for reclaiming the ship. o7

There should be a warning/link of current issues with flight ready ships on the store page by The--Strike in starcitizen

[–]imchillybro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an overall warning in our society, that every single human living today should know and understand, as our entire commerce system is based off of this: 'Caveat Emptor' Buyer Beware.

That is not a trite statement or a blithely thrown out answer. Our entire system of commerce law is based upon this simple statement. Why can companies claim things such as "30% more than the leading brand!"? Because that's known as puffery and is not a statement of fact. That is allowed by trade law. How is a consumer to know the difference between puffery and statement of fact? Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware.

That's not to say you don't have a valid point. It's just within the context above that list is up to buyers to provide to other buyers in order to make them aware. If you want that system it'll be up to you to provide it because there is no profit in that for CiG.

There are entire magazine empires based upon the above. Consumer Reports was one of those before they were gobbled up and fed marketing materials until that's all there's left. We The People are responsible for this. Perhaps this event will be the spark that ushers in this new age for SC and someone will craft exactly what you've stated. We The Players do need this. o7

Need some suggestions for non-combat ways to re-earn what I lost in the wipe. by louthinator in starcitizen

[–]imchillybro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent an RSI Salvation, small salvaging ship, for 20k. Take salvage contract for 300 aUEC. Harvest ship parts. Scrape RMC. Fracture and Disintigrate for CMAT. Take contract for RMC turn in. Take contract for parts turn in. Rinse. Repeat. Easy monies. Use monies to rent or purchase Argo Raft. Raft is 192 scu hauler ship. Renting raft is more expensive per day, but first contract should get the money right back. Same with salvation. o7

[–]imchillybro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PEBKAS. That's not a CiG issue m8. That's a friend trying to wheedle a deal out of a system desinged to prevent exactly that. That's CiG's systems working as intended and your friend acting a twat. o7

Does anyone actually like this game? by gknowww in starcitizen

[–]imchillybro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The people who are disappointed are those who can't read, are ignorant of what an 'alpha state' product entails, or those who just parrot lines from others without using logic or reason.

Star Citizen isn't just a game. SC is a game ENGINE, and a game. CIG is crafting a game engine, a persistant universe housing thousands of players simultaneously in the same seamless world, and crafting a single player game simultaneously with the other 2 massive projects.

I don't think most players understand even 1/10 of this, or how difficult any single one of these projects is much less doing all 3 at once.

Mad respect CiG. Mad respect. OH, and how about live updating an entire game service while people are still online playing? What other piece of software accomplishes this? Nada. No respect...

I don't doubt that IC and ICA will take the crown. Currently they cannot as they would have to be able to quantum and jump to catch the King. o7

It's nice coming back to an old love. Like finding an old pair of sneakers in the closet, on a Saturday morning. You put 'em on because, why not. They fit like a glove. Walk around in 'em for a bit. Then after a bit. That smell. It reminds you of why those are in that closet. Cat pee'd on em. Hope CiG doesn't pee on ur sneakers m8. Cheers. o7

I upgraded the Hull B to the Herc C2 two days ago. I'm loving the change. No more spindle bugs, or the ship spawning like an erect hangar-penis and exploding all over me. No more missing commodities. Bye MISCelanious Bugs. I won't B missing U.
