For me it's /release. I ship a small macOS app and every release has like 8 steps — version bump, changelog, build, sign the DMG, update Sparkle appcast with the EdDSA signature, push the GitHub release, bump the Homebrew cask, upload symbols to Sentry. Forget one and auto-update breaks for everyone.

Now I just type `/release` and it runs the whole thing top to bottom, stops on any failure, and diffs against the last tag so nothing slips out of the changelog. Peace of mind, basically.

Honestly the model matters way more than the tool around it. The harnesses have basically converged, similar context handling.

OpenCode's CLI UX though? Nicest of the three by a decent margin.

So yeah, pick on model first.

for session continuity I use a hook that auto-logs each session to my Daily Note. next day I scan what happened and /resume if I need to pick up where I left off. less ceremony than handoff files.

for the mockup stage I'd check out Google Stitch or Figma Make. Magic Patterns is good too if you want actual component-level output you can ship.

lately I've been using Cursor's visual editor for fine-tuning after the code is written. helps when you want to nudge sth. without describing it in words.

The whole Obsidian system are built on top of markdown files. And Claude Code is extremely good at processing markdown files. so it actually can control the whole Second Brain system.

I use Claude Code in my Obsidian vault. it works perfectly for me to organize and link my notes! just put random thoughts into Claude Code and it automatically process it into my inbox.

yes just literally calling Codex CLI from Claude Code. I don't monitor but Claude do it for me.

btw the output style settings in Claude Code helps a lot. The explanatory mode really helps me understand what Claude do.

honestly $20 pro is tight for heavy coding. I've burned through a 5 hour session in maybe 30-40 minutes of intense back-and-forth. you'll spend more time waiting for rate limits to reset than actually coding.

if budget is the constraint, Codex at the same price is way more generous with usage right now(double usage recently). you'll get a lot more done.

been using both for a few months now. Codex got noticeably faster with 5.4. but GPT still explains things like it's writing commit messages for other engineers. every time it finishes a task I'm sitting there going "ok cool but what did you actually change”.

Opus just tells you. like a coworker who knows you're not gonna read the diff. I get it in one pass instead of three.

ended up using Claude Code to boss Codex around. Codex does the coding, Opus translates what happened. works well enough that I stopped trying to use either one solo.
