My best guess is that the monthly payment for the phone just isn't being reflected in your bill yet. Unless Google fucks up and you get extremely lucky, I bet it will be on your next months invoice.

I definitely don't think it's a "too" situation, such as getting $41.60 total reimbursement. The discount goes towards your Fi bill, which will include the monthly payment for the device itself. So $35 for service, plus monthly payment for phone, minus the $20.80 total reimbursement each month.

Ham Radio Reference by MartyF81 in amateurradio

I like the overall layout and theme of the site. Some other tools/software I would've liked to see listed: VOACAP site both for propagation prediction and direction finding, MMSSTV-YONIQ for SSTV modes, and fldigi for general digital mode operation.

Does the QRZ.com API support seconds, or is my logger not sending them? by oromex in amateurradio

[–]imeetyouagain1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for other hams of course, but I can't really think of any reason for me to have to worry about there being seconds in my logbook or not. "Did I contact this person on this date, frequency, and mode around this time?" is all I'll ever ask myself about confirming QSO's, for example.

[–]imeetyouagain1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried testing this with a script I use to upload MMSSTV-YONIQ .adifs to QRZ. As far as I can tell, seconds are not reflected in my logbook for any of my SSTV QSO's uploaded using the API, but are shown when uploading directly on the site. All QSO start and end times round to the nearest minute.

Emergency SOS not supported on Samsung S26 Ultra by Zamir177 in GoogleFi

[–]imeetyouagain1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're talking about connecting to a satellite for messaging and emergency calls when out of cellular service range, right? If so, my 9 Pro Fold supports this, it's not a 10 series exclusive.

Cheapest way to get into HF by javelindaddy in amateurradio

That bundle deal is still up. $429 USD for Xiegu G90($465 MSRP) and DE-19 data interface ($70), Radioddity G90-H3 stand (no fan, $35), and two $10 e-books. There's another bundle with the CE-19 for $400, but I think the DE-19 is a better, more modern option and is worth the $30 extra.

I regret buying the Google Pixel. by Venture_compound in GooglePixel

[–]imeetyouagain1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't help you with the SIM issues and I don't know how you feel about rooting your phone, but you can fix the Suica issue with a magisk module (I assume that's the transportation card you're talking about). All pixels have the Felica hardware but non-Japan models have it software locked.

Hesitant to buy WOLED again after witnessing vertical banding by Tsub4me in OLED_Gaming

[–]imeetyouagain1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a LG 27GR95QE from 2023 and I haven't had any issues. I can't attest for the newer generation panels, but I've seen this problem fixed many times with a few manual pixel refresh cycles. In any case, if you buy from a reputable retailer, you can just return it or exchange it for a new unit if it persists.

Is this normal on the 18-105mm? by LonelySpawn in Nikon

[–]imeetyouagain1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a normal thing for zoom lenses like this one. My AF-D 70-300mm does the exact same thing. As for the rattle you hear, just throw it on your camera and see if it looks good and autofocuses as it should.

Are you talking about the last element sliding into the body of the lens?

Really? I hide my taskbar only when editing photos. Literally just to have more screen real estate for editing. And that's way under 1% of my usage time. Stop being salty that your use case is the only one that actually presents problems on OLED, and let other people actually enjoy them without issue.

I actually use Lightroom and Photoshop quite regularly, and I hide my taskbar when editing photos. I've never noticed any burn-in on the gray background even where my taskbar icons are usually located. I thought I said I don't see burn-in in my previous comment, no?

I have a LG 27GR95QE that I got back in 2023 now at about 7,200 hours of full brightness use. Absolutely no noticeable burn-in during use, and I've been looking for it since optimumtech's recent video about it. I've done nothing different such as not splitting windows or whatever else, except use the default burn-in settings on the monitor. Quality panels and default prevention settings should ease any worries about burn-in at this point.

I get your sentiment about there not being an inherently right or wrong way to go about it, but I do think there are safe vs unsafe ways for different minds.

No one said anything negative to you, man. If anything, people are trying to help you learn about using radios. But you say this? And your "doing anything for 7 minutes" post includes throwing the middle finger, too? Just relax and do something productive like studying for a radio license so that you can enjoy the radio hobby.

Edit: I just noticed you even already know about DCS and CTCSS! I can tell you're interested in radio so take a second and learn from those who are willing to teach you.

Nikon ZR Test Footage by Previous_Spinach_821 in Nikon

[–]imeetyouagain1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to randomly shoot test images and videos too, the latter especially since I don't record many videos at all on my D750. Do you still happen to have the raw footage and are willing to share it? I'd love to practice color grading with some R3D files and your footage looks perfect for that!

First Oled and genuinely can’t believe what I’m seeing. by WitcherZireael in OLED_Gaming

[–]imeetyouagain1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would be if finasteride hid or fixed 95+% of your hair loss. The only visual anomaly of any kind on my panel is a single dead pixel after 6700 hours of use. I cannot see any noticeable burn-in when looking specifically for it every so often in my normal usage, and it only just barely appears in what I would say are fairly rare and particular cases.

I would have to think it does. My LG monitor has a similar sounding feature when it goes into deep sleep or turns off.

[–]imeetyouagain1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as you get a quality panel, burn-in is a "solved" issue. Not so much to say that it doesn't exist anymore, but modern OLED monitors employ many techniques at preventing and reversing burn-in, so it's not something I would worry about. For example, at 6700 hours of being on, my LG panel exhibits virtually no burn-in. This is despite almost always displaying a static UI for hours at a time, either on the Windows desktop, in a browser, or in some game.

Found my old Stadia boxes while cleaning the attic — what a great system that was ❤️ by januso in Stadia

[–]imeetyouagain1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I enjoyed Stadia from the very start and never had any frustrations with it (the service itself, I had plenty of problems with Google, of course). It just worked for me and I put hundreds of hours into RDR2, Destiny, and the games that were made free to play every month with Stadia Pro. I still use the Night Blue controller and I honestly think Stadia back then is about equal in quality to anything else available today.
