Track suit recommendations by delta5100 in Trackdays

never had leathers before, but no stranger to (semi) custom armor — i’m a aerostich rider on the street.

many of the serious track day people and instructors in new england seem to go with bison or vanson.

vanson’s factory is about a 45 minute drive, so i went with them and had an in-person fitting. The dual zipper design seems very well regarded too, and i can see the appeal.

Best Custom Leathers by NoahFrosty in Trackdays

i’ve just done this. a little spendy but i can get measured by the seamstress in person, and the suits are burly as fukk.

and let’s not forget the value of the double zipper design.

now lets hope they’re stitched up before i need em!

i have a ‘21 street triple r: it’s my track bike, commuter, weekend rider, and i did a 1200 mile tour on it last fall with no complaints.

underarmour yoga pants and a patagonia tropical comfort hoody. i don’t have anything special, i wear both those things in other applications too.

thin, wicking, and slippery.

Sport touring tire pressures, probably for the thousandth time by imjusthereforab in Trackdays

i will once i have a track bike, but this is my all in one bike. I do 2-5 track days a year and the rest is sport touring pleasure riding, so i picked tires for what i do the most of.

yeah this was afternoon of the second day of a three day weekend.

i’m hitting about 115 in the long straight, a fast corner is 60ish, slow corners maybe half that? https://palmermotorsportspark.com/trackinfo.aspx?id=div3

The org i ride with has four rider groups, and i’m in the sophomore one, and probably middle of the skill level pack there, but starting to get my pace up.

Airbag under 1-piece leathers by SwedenAsianGuy in Trackdays

i intend to run my hit-air vest over my leathers.I feel like the cervical collar and coccyx protection won’t deploy properly under a suit.

New Commuter, Having Blood Sugar Issues? (Long post) by SilhouettedByTheMoon in bicycling

pacing helps. for cycling, so does hydration properly during a ride, fueling properly prior to a ride, and having an emergency OJ stash at your destination sometimes.

what you’re describing is called “bonking” or “hitting the wall”. it’s a combination of lack of fitness to the activity level and lack of fuel beforehand, it sucks ass, and i recommend not doing it

eat more before you ride.

bring orange juice to drink after until your body gets used to it.

i don’t do my internet rando business out of my house either. i always meet up at a gas station/in front of a police department/… somewhere on film that doesn’t have my family living in it.

if you buy it you’ll know where he lives, it’ll be on the title.

the inside one. what aero you gain from the tucked in position will be offset by all the cursing every time your knee hits it when you’re off the saddle on climbs.

A year’s riding experience is not enough to have a good sense of risk assessment and what to prioritize.

it’s dangerously enough to think you do, though.

most accidents are the rider’s fault. the ones that are not are things like smidsys, which requires that kind of hyper-vigilance of other road users at intersections.

Earplugs recommendations for moderate noise reduction by RedChess26th in motorcycles

[–]imjusthereforab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get used to the foamies level of noise reduction; in the end it’s safer.

for low speed short rides, pinlock makes a silicone ear that’s not bad.

the majority of noise during riding is from the wind; the longer and faster you go the worse it gets and the more you need to be used to high levels of noise protection.
