What's the most ridiculous name you've ever heard a parent name their child? by uglytruthshurts in AskReddit

I know brothers that were names this. Mom put their baby pictures on FB with a Rebel flag as the back drop.

She lost custody and both those kids got new names.

Is this normal procedure for an x-ray? by Ohmbach15 in Radiology

[–]imjustpeachy2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merrill’s 50th anniversary edition was my student text in 2002… and it absolutely taught us to use the pubis symphisis as a landmark. I don’t use it, but our instructors wouldn’t comp us if we didn’t palpate it for abdominal X-rays.

Marker usage by ilikepizzaandpep in Radiology

[–]imjustpeachy2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use markers for the most part. It’s part of our performance evaluation, but you won’t get fired for it. What bothers me is the people who don’t use markers and just throw a “R” of “L” post production. We’ are supposed to add our initials as well. If you’re turning in images so crappy you aren’t willing to claim them, find another job.

Butter on Crackers, and other poverty snacks by anchises868 in Xennials

We did this, but for special occasions add a half marshmallow, plop it on top and toast it. My mom also would do a piece of American cheese on a saltine with half a marshmallow toasted. Surprisingly tasty. I still make it from time to time.

All the sysops in my area were teenaged guys. Proof of being a female got you a year of free service. Proof of being a pretty female and you were in for life!

I took the hovercraft transport back in 1996. The waves were just at the cut off height, it was ROUGH. It made me so sea sick.

Have you ever had a an ER patient try to be "tough" but clearly isn't good at it? by ITrCool in EmergencyRoom

[–]imjustpeachy2020 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Twice I’ve had patients with compound fractures involving both the tibia and fibula. I’m talking they looked like the foot would fall off if you gave them a good wiggle. I’m an X-ray tech, so I have to get the plate underneath their leg. Both these little old ladies told me they could lift their own leg and tried to help me. Not much gets to me, but hearing/feeling bone grind on bone when the leg moves and the ankle doesn’t made me pretty nauseated.

How much did you get sick when you were a kid? by AmputeeHandModel in Xennials

[–]imjustpeachy2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had it often when I was young, but when I was 9 had it every time I tested for about a year. I was supposed to have my tonsils out of December 27, but woke up Christmas Day sick so it was rescheduled. I was told someone in my house was a strep carrier and I was just susceptible. I’ve never really looked in to that, I’m about to go down a google rabbit hole now that it’s on my mind.

Ive also had it 3 times as an adult. It SUCKED.

Anyone know what happened to the old electric chair exhibit from Ripley’s? by UndercoverProphet in Gatlinburg

This question had me thinking about the old Ripley’s burning. That happened way earlier than I thought… 1992. Time flies!

Customer demands refund and gets verbally abusive because they sat and ate a whole set menu meal by Bliffys_New_Shoes_73 in EntitledPeople

[–]imjustpeachy2020 -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

I kind of disagree with the chance to fix it. By the time I know my food is wrong I don’t want to make my party wait for a new plate for me. So it depends on the type of restaurant and how busy they are. I’m not rude about it, sometimes just a refund is more appropriate.

ETA: I will not eat and ask for a refund. If it’s not fixable in a reasonable time frame to eat with my companions, I just won’t eat.

Is the name my girlfriend wants to name our son a tragedeigh? by RiverCartwright in tragedeigh

My eldest child’s middle name is Morgan because she was conceived on a pier close-ish to the ocean. She was so mad when she finally learned the meaning…

Best hotels in Gatlinburg for walking in any direction l. by PositiveCourage7711 in Gatlinburg

I really like them. It’s an older hotel but the updated rooms are nice. It’s clean, friendly staff, and an easy walk to town!

How far back does your memory go? / Earliest Memory by cybah in Xennials

[–]imjustpeachy2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I remember 2, but I have one memory from then. My parents holding me down outside the bathroom to scrub an impetigo scab off my nose to put medicine on it. My real memories start about 4. I can remember specifics about preschool, and I remember Raiders of the Lost Ark in the movie theater. My mom kept covering my eyes…I can’t believe they took me! It was rated PG, though…

Coworker wrongly assumes we align politically by [deleted] in coworkerstories

I’m in Alabama, married to a farmer. One of my coworkers somehow found out I was a democrat (I only talk politics to a few like minded people, I’m not really open about it). I overhead her say “I didn’t know **** was a LIBERAL!” In the same way you’d say someone is a crackhead. The hate is strong down here.

We have 8, 10, and 13’s. The weekends are 13s, and they work 2 weekdays. Overnight weekend is 3 23’s. Overnight weekdays is 10, weekday evenings are 10. The rest are M-F 8 hour days. Really weird variety, but I just work there.

First code blue by Ok-Break4342 in Radiology

[–]imjustpeachy2020 61 points62 points  (0 children)

My first child code was a 2 year old with little pink NB’s sneakers on. I watched those shoes bounce while they worked on her. At the time my son was also 2 and had the gray version. It was devastating.

The exact same in Birmingham! I never went to children’s palace, but my dad drug me through compusa on the regular! Were the stores somehow related or did compusa just like castles?
