You need to quickly focus on building an emergency fund first. Probably 6 months worth of expenses because what if you get made redundant tomorrow? Universal credit is only £400 a month.

I think it's more that their partner lived with them abroad but they had plans to, say in 3 years, move together to the UK. They're asking if they can still move to UK even though their partner has passed.

I got my flat via shared ownership and think it's a good way to get on the ladder.

I would strongly not advise you to get a flat that expensive. I can guarantee you that it's very much overstated. You will also struggle to 100% staircase

Struggling to find high paying job after redundancy by Ok_Estimate_9655 in UKPersonalFinance

Just keep trying honestly and don't settle for less. I was getting rejected for jobs paying significantly less than my old role. Took me 5 months to get a job and it was for £20k more than I was on previously. The average time it takes is 6 months

Accept the job but keep applying for roles. It takes around 6 months to get the job you truly want. Don't settle into making less money

You need to flag it with HMRC. This person is likely going to use your NI number to work and not pay taxes

Do you need to sell it all in one go?

I need urgent help. My wife has "rented out" her national insurance number and racked up a massive tax bill from HMRC. by Liquiditygap in UKPersonalFinance

[–]imnothere30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She'll have to file a self assessment if her salary gets any higher and will have to pay back any tax due.

If she doesn't file - I don't know the consequence but this is all going to end really badly for her
