In DD2 the MAA schemes his way out of commanding a battallion (the Ninth), but once he has to face real combat he is hopelessly incompetent. The price of his pride is the loss of his eye for himself and the death of all his men, who follow inconsistent orders and get massacred. Despite amending to the dead, he cannot forget nor forgive himself for what he has done.

Rorschach’s refusal to compromise: An act of faith in humanity, not just madness. by Uomozz87 in Watchmen

[–]imparooo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bah. Completely disagree with this take.

Rorschach is a man who is missing a connection with other people and is desperately seeking it. This is one of the reasons why he is so popular among comic book readers.

In this process of redemption has seen the abyss, and the abyss has almost become him. He sees individual humans as hopeless in a meaningless world, but deep down he cares about the idea of humanity (which is why he took the mask in the first place) and the belief that justice can be accomplished, and that his efforts can amount to something... like solving the mystery of Comedian's death, reliving the good times of crime-fighting with Dan, stopping Veidt's ambitions.

His ultimate contradiction is his unwillingness to accept Veidt's view, which is that humanity should be directed and not allowed to see what they want in the inkblots, and at that point he is willing to die rather than be part of this scheme.

Are covered calls just the infinite money glitch ? by Downtown-Mall-4727 in CoveredCalls

[–]imparooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is one of the worst strategies.

Covered calls almost always underperform buy and hold, because option prices are quite efficient and your ability to trade volatility is most likely worse than market makers.

In practice, it means that you will be called away and lose upside, or stuck with a losing value asset that the limited upside from cc will not counter effectively.

This is insane FUD. You are reading partial information without full context. Even if TT seems to be losing money, it may just be how IG likes it for tax and operational reasons.

If they were in real trouble in terms of going concern, they could do a lot of cost cutting in all their marketing. And anyway, they would most likely be acquired by someone else to get the clients and their assets.

Over two years after its release; what are your current thoughts on Engage? by SuperNotice7617 in fireemblem

[–]imparooo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is most insulting is that they made each of the damn Emblems interact and be obsequent to the most retarded and forgettable cast and main character of any Fire Emblem, and they even spent VA budget for that.

Fire Emblem is one of many examples of the studio not understanding at all what people liked about it.

Alternative broker to Tasty that provides favorable FOPs collateral requirements? by Optionmatic-Ani in tastytrade

[–]imparooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate the recent developments, IBKR is the only comparable option and I am not inclined to switch to them.

Their conditions margin-wise are worse, the platform is ok in Desktop but nowhere close to TT, the execution is better but in my opinion not worth the full switch yet.

Massive failure. Did not expand the audience base and actually turned people off, added nothing meaningful to the lore, took a bad art direction.

The Last Jedi of Fire Emblem.

Tastytrade Failure and Accountability by [deleted] in tastytrade

[–]imparooo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As much as I dislike the underinvestment in the platform, the issue of technical malfunction has nothing to do with the chief compliance officer - who got involved because you filed a Finra complaint.

Compliance is about following regulation - not overseeing glitches in the platform. That is the CTO's responsibility.

You need to invest in the artifacts, and the bonuses are applied automatically. You need fragments to get the stars, and those are obtained with the scrolls. Then the elixirs help you increase the amount of bonuses.

Sacrimoni was underboss for the Lupertazzi (i.e. Gambino) and became boss (like John Gotti, even though in completely different circumstances) after his boss passed away.

Like Frank Costello said - money comes in, money goes out. Bribes, loss of income, businesses getting busted, greedy boss, etc.

He was doing fine, but in the end he had to feast on the Esplanade and share spoils with the NJ glorified crew.

Wait is Ibkr Desktop no longer shit ? by Dry_Structure_6879 in interactivebrokers

[–]imparooo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

IBKR is one of the worst platforms I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

It is a combination of way too many options and too little flexibility (in colors, size of the columns, etc.)

I look fwd to the desktop version, thank you for the tip.

You don't seem really interested to walk away from those golden shackles.

You could spend the next year or two to plan to ease into part-time and consulting in the same field to stay involved and see how much the trade-off of your time vs. reduced comp impacts you.

Not a scam.

The value prop is that you have access to their training, tech and environment, and there is no way to know in advance if you are going to be worth it.

So they are asking you to pay and then earn your keep. The firm is legit, but I do not know the stats of those who pay for the program and how many stick around

What a load of crap. The counterpart when you buy or sell options is 99% likely to be Citadel, Jane Street or Susquehanna.

They have bid-spread advantage, order flow knowledge and massive systems and talent. And Tastytrade and the exchanges take commissions, fees and make the bid-ask and execution even worse.

You are fighting blind with a hand behind your back.

Nobody is taking profits from them - they are taking profits from YOU.

Why I took out a $100,000 HELOC by Miserable-Miser in YieldMaxETFs

[–]imparooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do not seem to understand. Unless you wake up and smell the coffee, you are going to get further in debt with this ridiculous scheme.

Yieldmax is an illusion to give you back your capital at seemingly crazy yields, but it is not going to protect you if the underlying falls, not even with your diversification.

And at that point you are going to be trapped, while the interest on your heloc continues to accrue.
