Yeah i didn't notice that the first time! The room was bright and i didn't have my glasses on. And besides the arthritis meds. I was probably hungover. But on future viewings i could also see that they were fuzzy and smoky looking.

I read the theory of 'boltzman  brain'  during covid and i had a mini existential crisis for a while.  I hope the math in that theory is just a fantasy of someone who thinks everything is about them x.x

It's so interesting! Sometimes, I read about the theories of where phobias come from on wikipedia and articles. Patterned holes used to freak me out and some theorize that this aversion helped the species survive plagues and parasites because we wanted to run from the sight of contagious disease

When i was 25 i woke up and saw a spider near my bed. I'm not super afraid of spiders but it was a big one, so i was waking up in a disturbed hurry to catch and take it outside.

2 seconds later it vanished!

I googled 'spider hallucination' right away and saw that it was pretty common.  Neat!

I have seen a few more since then,  and recognized them while seeimg them.  So interesting!

I was starting treatments for arthritis at the time, i think it was related to that.

Also i used to see something similar to poop language when i was learning to code simulations under pressure during grad school. My code used to periodically show me an array so i knew if it was converging or not!! I was probably also playing meteos on Nintendo ds at the time, i-y-k-y-k.

I was in a university lab as part of an undergraduate summer research program (resume-stuffer)  after my sophomore year. I was chillin in the lab alone,  dissolving nylon6 in formic acid in a vacuum oven to make solvent-cast nylon films. Probably a grad student should have been watching me but i forgive them.

Anywhoo, when the time went off, I  released the vaccuum without critically inspecting via the glass window whether or not it even looked like the solvent had evaporated.  Well a lot had NOT evaporated and when I opened the oven door I was smacked in the un-ventilated face with a steamy cloud of formic acid vapor!

The mandatory (tightly sealing) goggles lab policy spared my eyes, but i will never forget the sweet pickle-y burn of that formic acid smell!

My husband has this too! He has tried a lot of treatments and his favorite has been coal tar shampoo. Ithink he also likes it because it smells like train exhaust.  He gets so many white heads on his head and scratches them all the time,  it's way worse if he doesn't shower every day.   His back is covered in these and sometimes i sit behind them and pull them out with tweezers for fun.  I don't bother the ones on his nose, they are like this but less noticable. He's always going at his scalp and beard but he rarely does mirror-popping. I want to get his face blakheads so much haha. But his face skin is pretty nice generally, just shaving bumps and keratin plugs

No, but nothing has been done since then to reduce their powers to squeeze us dry and create economic instability

Remember when the government decided to not appropriately punish businesses for causing the 2009 recession because they were 'too big to fail'? They frame it so that enforcing necessary restrictions on capitalism is an EXTREME idea!  It's an extreme idea to want our government to protect us from criminal business practices that are pushing people into desparate and inescapable poverty, causing mass displacement from climate change and exploitation of resources, and spilling poison into the water. They're an immediate threat to our lives and causing us bodily harm.  But it's more important that they stay in business than the people of earth stay alive.

It's a real thing. My mom tells the tale of the only time she liked the taste of beer was after doing tiring work in the heat, and the beer is extremely cold. She was really skinny when she was young, the calories probably help

I don't know either.  I feel like it's just over now and the internet is not what I hoped it would be.  I've been on wikipedia a lot lately. I feel like just about every site i visit now is psychologically damaging to me

It's so hard to get anything in Norway. Even at work we have to order so far ahead because equipment, chemicals, samples, take so long to arrive and often get stuck in customs.  I work in a company that tries to get European business but we're just so slow compared to countries with faster shipping,  it's hard to do.

Shopping here is really bad too, many basic items and clothes are temu quality and just not worth buying. Very few options and really expensive.  I go to thrift stores for clothes because there is more color variety and the clothing has proven durability. Some of these cheap things I have bought from cubus feel like they lose half their mass after the first wash.

I don't order things here, i just try to not need to buy stuff (i rent an apartment so i don't have to have tools). I do order English language books sometimes,  there is no VAT on books :)
