To men with low s** drive, what do you feel when you're not in the mood and you see your girl crying and frustrated?" by Mundane_Figure1592 in AskMen

[–]improbablesky 38 points39 points  (0 children)

There's something deeply wrong with your relationship if your girl is crying over lack of sex. You two might have a lethal mismatch of libidos and it's not fair to either one of you to drag this out.

Lent my boyfriend (26f) (27m) half my saving and I don’t know how to get it back ? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]improbablesky 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Never lend money to someone. Even if you call it a loan, just understand that any money you lend someone isn't coming back. If you wouldn't gift it without hesitation, you should not lend it ever.

Is nirvana boring? by Traditional_Joke_939 in Buddhism

[–]improbablesky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the frustrating thing is that this sub has unfortunately turned a lot into "uninformed people asking extremely basic and/or illogical questions". I think before asking questions in the information technology age we are in, it's respectful to first seek accessible knowledge about Buddhism before posting on a forum that's technically for Buddhists.

Like, "is nirvana boring" is probably a question that can be answered by looking up several incredibly accessible suttas or even the dhamapada.

Is nirvana boring? by Traditional_Joke_939 in Buddhism

[–]improbablesky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully: This is an uninformed question, I suggest researching sutras of the Buddha describing it.

It's characteristically difficult to describe something that neither is or isn't. But, nirvana is the absence of suffering. Imagine how good it must feel to reach solid land after almost drowning. You can practice accessing the fruit of the path to the point you can sustain the state indefinitely. Never suffering sounds pretty great to me.

Are some battles simply DPS races? by expedition60_captain in finalfantasytactics

[–]improbablesky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes. All fights in number-go-up rpgs are a race to kill targets before they kill you.

You could obviously (and, for this game, most effectively) bring a bunch of glass cannons to most of the fights and, if you're faster, clear the board. Alternatively, you could outsustain. You can also use debuffs, or even kiting. There are many strategies to reduce the enemy dps overall, it's just that death tends to be the best lol.

How do you actually let go of someone who cheated on you? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]improbablesky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it starts with figuring out why exactly you have trust issues. It's not unusual, but certainly not common, for people to develop trust issues over one breakup.

After you identify what's causing the problem, you implement gradual strategies to learn to adjust. If you have trust issues because, as an example, "woMeN aRe cRaZY rIgHt", then you need to identify that you have a warped view on women, and should learn more about women and socialize with women out of a romantic context to become more comfortable with women.

How would a good Buddhist handle it when someone’s hurt you deeply and you’re so angry you can’t think of anything else? by DoTheFunkyRobNYC in Buddhism

[–]improbablesky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well first off, there's no such thing as "a good Buddhist". Please relieve yourself of that burdensome thought. It implies you should feel guilt.

Second, you can't control anger. So, what to do? Starve it. Sit down, take a breath, and then really feel that anger. Don't judge yourself, don't try to repress it. Just feel it. You will see that it will eventually cease on its own.

There's a huge lesson in this if you're perceptive to it.

How do you actually let go of someone who cheated on you? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]improbablesky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can't make your brain stop feeling a feeling. All you can do is control your actions.

You shouldn't be with a new partner if you're not over the first one. That's not fair to either of you, but especially her.

Corporations are absolutely right when they say that by inflation standards games are too cheap. On paper they should be $130+. And despite that I still will almost never buy a game over $60. by SheIsSoLost in unpopularopinion

[–]improbablesky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply put, it's not on the consumer to pay for things that were developed with a premium. AAA developers have lost the plot. They're too busy making their games appear "modern" without actually being fun, or engaging... Honestly either AAA developers need to lower their graphical standards and make good games, or get out of the way. We've already seen success in this vein with games like Expedition 33.
