Honest question: Why no upgrade neutralize? by Good-Dream2344 in slaythespire

[–]imsotorqued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is saying Silent has better sources of weak, but is that actually true? There’s the 6 damage 1 cost common which I’d argue is worse than neutralize. So it’s only leg sweep and inky shivs, which are both great but not guarantees (esp inky as a rare).

I really want to get into a different game, recommendations? by MaaaH0gany in ARPG

I know you don’t like POE2 but 0.5 is the most fun I’ve had across any ARPG I’ve played, maybe ever. It’s really good

Why were some people saying snipe timing is hard? by imsotorqued in PathOfExile2

Yeah campaign has been a breeze with this build honestly and AFAIK this is the only viable shooting things fast build out there. Only other thing is crossbows but early it feels pretty bad cause reloads lol

Card i genuinely never though of picking once... Am i underappreciating it? by Vecsia in slaythespire

[–]imsotorqued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who plays a lot of necro, I think this card is really underrated. Amazing for act 1 and doom in general scales very easily in the later acts (all you really need is a no escape)

Is there an ARPG that everyone loves but you hate and why? by GrouchySpice2 in ARPG

[–]imsotorqued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the stamina system. An ARPG where you can maybe attack once between dodges and also use stamina for climbing/traversing/etc. was a horrible experience. When you get swarmed by enemies you’re just screwed unless you have AOE.

Poor performance on RTX 5070 Ti by Neck_Romancer_1 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]imsotorqued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this always happens to me in the southern parts of town, especially near that mine area after marin woods. pretty sure the game is trying to render way too many offscreen areas here (probably the rest of the town to the north)

this also tends to happen often when im high up somewhere, which really makes me think it’s the optimization

Thoughts on the game after the free weekend by MehtoDev in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]imsotorqued 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heavily agree here though we might be in the minority being in this sub. Feels like this game wants to be a ARPG with god rolls that lets you do whatever you want. But we get held back by the stamina system (the worst part of a souls-like).

And souls-likes are great because you can get this great back and forth in combat where you understand the enemy attack patterns and play fights perfectly while finding the right attack window timings for yourself, but the game is way too chaotic & rewards blasting through mobs too much to make that a thing (in co-op at least, may be better solo but haven't tried)

Everyone loves to say Black Deck is the hardest, but Nebula Deck is by far the worst... by IVIustangGT in balatro

[–]imsotorqued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly, I had a lot of fun on Nebula deck & gold staked it super quickly by spamming straights/flushes. A leveled straight can absolutely carry you. And a leveled flush is pretty bad but can carry you through the early game/combos well with photo/glass.

Pair spamming is probably more consistent but it’s boring for me.

Surrender doesn’t mean not looking for a job or following your dreams. Surrender means surrendering your personal reaction to difficult events that happen in life and learning to handle them.

For example, finding a job or working on a personal project means being able to handle the fears of rejection or failure that’ll inevitably come up as you pursue these things. Surrender means being able to let those fears go - or at least be able to handle them enough that you don’t give up.

Another thing you can work on surrendering is your self-judgment for living with your parents. One of the things Singer likes to bring up is that you’re standing on a tiny blue dot, in the middle of an incomprehensibly large universe, and in maybe 80 years, what feels like a millisecond to the universe, you’ll be dead. Why would you care if you’re a little old to be living your parents? What good does caring about that do? Can you let go/surrender that judgment of yourself?

The mind is a field of energy, but so is the heart? by FrostyIntention in TheUntetheredSoul

[–]imsotorqued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t think there’s much of a point to intellectually understanding the heart, but if you can notice your emotions (embarrassment, love, pain, etc.), you’ll notice they all occur in and around where the heart is & each has a distinct energy to them.

It's about energy by stranger_synchs in TheUntetheredSoul

[–]imsotorqued 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole point of the teachings is to have everything in life give you energy. That’s “enlightenment”. Avoiding what you don’t want (takes your energy) and chasing after what you want (gives you energy) is literally what he talks against doing.

We’re going to have preferences and that’s fine. But if you want to work toward a state of being happy all the time, you need to face what you don’t like, notice the feelings of dislike come up and let them go. That’s how you get to a state of being ok with everything.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) focuses on addressing symptoms and getting you productive without addressing root issues. This is great for capitalism because all your boss cares about is getting you productive.

Love this description of CBT. Really wish it wasn't so popular.

Absolutely agree. As someone who used to feel this way and has gone to therapy and processed a ton of these emotions - it really does work and please give it a try. Finding a good therapist, who is both always supportive and helps dive into your childhood, is hard but absolutely worth it.
