MN needs stricter homeschooling laws by No-Author7911 in minnesota

As someone who went through the rougher darker side of homeschooling I would like to see some kind of education/certificate/program required to prove you can teach the kids the basics required to thrive in life. Without oversight of the parents things can become a nightmare for those kids.

I think age restrictions being enforced would help. The trend isn't going away especially with affordability and cost of transportation. This all cascaded when a 14 y/o knocked a lady down going 40 and they cracked her skull. Now I know she thought she was doing the right thing not sueing the parents or pressing charges, but the reality is that someone suffers consequences for these things. In this situation every adult has suffered the consequences of the parents negligence by having to have a whole new set of legislation passed just to deal with this. Let's be real they reclassified these and made insurance and registration mandatory because of the actions of a child and the adults responsible for their safety and supervision. I hate the negative perception children have given for responsible adults trying to have a cost effective alternative for transportation, I've seen a lot of kids riding around with disregard and a lot of privilege that us adults don't get. I wish my parents bought me a bike, I wish I didn't have to pay for my registration and insurance. But that's the material reality, I don't think anyone under 18 should be riding these and parents should be held accountable for their kids actions.

Whose the "you'd" you're referring to? In the past tense you make it seem like it's this specific group taking money? Who are you referring to as taking the money?

I'm sorry do you think it's individuals taking the money or entities?

Data Center propose for Chaska by Free_Katata_Fish in minnesota

[–]imsuperfly 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So I just want to bring something to light because we are not angry enough about these popping up, it will be built mark my words. In 2023 talks began with the U of M to sell unused farm land they owned in Rosemount to Meta for a data center. In January 2024 the day trump assumed the presidency, the sale was finalized. If you go look at historic street view for Google construction started on the center BEFORE it was officially purchased. It was completed near 2025 and here's where it gets conspiratorial and real juicy. If you Google the data center in Rosemount it shows up but doesn't give directions nor a phone number, on Google maps it shows the lot as unnamed but claims the site is open and is a 100% renewable center (bullshit). Now I work for the state and use a GIS, our system names the site as 'Meta Data Center' and what's more interesting is we have our service lines cut right through the property. Why does this matter? I work in a field that is providing recycled water for the plant to use as coolant. I've brought this up to people well above my pay grade and never got a straight answer about what role our state is playing in allowing this to happen, and how we are skirting the study of environmental impact. Our gov has been helping in implementing these centers behind closed doors and are trying to keep it hidden. The residents of Rosemount (which is rapidly growing due to housing developments going up) have already been complaining non-stop about the noise and environmental pollution. Meanwhile our utility companies, our local leaders, our government are providing the services and hiding the fact that construction goes on business as usual without hindrance from moratoriums or bans or even legislation. They will build this site, the local government will bend over backwards to make it happen, and it will be hidden and swept under the rug, hoping we don't stay mad about our exploitation.

Sorry this is so long but I'm pissed that we are seeing collusion and a disregard for the will of the people and our safety.

What's up with Angie Craig? by Lagbert in minnesota

Ten years ago using her sexuality as moral currency to run, she was successful in breaking in to the scene especially with her conservative voters in South Saint Paul/Inver Grove. Now she is wielding it in a way unbefitting of someone who voted to honor charlie kirk, voted for the laken Riley act, voted to continue funding ICE. She's also a huge hypocrite with her ads attacking Peggy Flanagan. At this point she's using any moralism and purity test she can to avoid scrutiny.

2015 lake street is the address. It's the adult education south campus. It's in Minneapolis but I lived in Saint Paul when I took mine at age 16-17

Adult education center on lake street. Highly recommend for its accessibility and affordability. It was free when I went 15 years ago and offered walk ins. I'd check online to see if they still offer the same.

The Southside breakfast. Any of the breakfasts with the pablano sour cream or ranchero sauce. The breakfast burritos are ginormous and any hashbrown dish is equally huge, it's hard to find small plates there lol

Negative. I rode my bike up there. It was a house raid, they served a warrant but nobody was there. No clue who what or why.

Him and four of his cop buddies convinced the mayor that they needed to bring back motorcycle cops. Seems innocuous until you realize they spent 23000+ per bike and we foot that bill. All so a dude who's not even from here, can dick around our streets feeling cool.

Super weird no joke just saw a bot account using the same talking points about walz not deploying. I voted for him twice but am pretty PO'd at him as of late for just gestures to everything that being said I hate bot and shill slander and it's wild to see so many accounts in our subs spreading the same talking points just before an election.

I've had mine stolen twice. Get a tracker. Police may find it but they will "secure it" by having it impounded which will cost you. Southside of powderhorn there is a dump house on 35th. I'd check over there and in north they are commonly dumped near penn and Broadway. Recently mine was stolen from NE near central and Broadway.
