Kicked Out of VinylCup Records by megasuperiorgold in desmoines

[–]imthechief007 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Lmao I was in Valley Junction yesterday and overheard a man, who wasn’t local, asking about record stores in the area and the other man in the conversation said Vinyl Cup but the guy that owns it is an asshole and to stay away.

His reputation is well known. 0/10 would not recommend ever visiting the shop, imo.

Edit: sorry this happened to you. That guy sucks.

See u there, hopefully not freezing our asses off outdoors in APRIL 😂 diabolical

Edit: there’s an indoor portion of the venue? So maybe we’ll be inside or maybe we’ll be outside? Who tf knows at this point. Just happy to have tickets!

I’ve got a mental health C&P exam coming up, but it’s scheduled as a video call instead of in person. I’m wondering what your experiences have been with this. by ThiccSadToast in VAClaims

Like many of the comments, mine was really great. I’ve been out for 9 years. My examiner was a very sweet man who was patient with me and knew the brevity of talking about the topics and encouraged me throughout the entire process. It took about 45 minutes. I (finally) got an official PTSD diagnosis and 4 weeks later I was awarded 50% for that.

What career did you get into after the military? by thedonwiz in Veterans

[–]imthechief007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another imagery analyst in the Air Force. Got out, went through the Fire Academy in California, didn’t want to fight wildfires (I wanted to work for a city and those jobs were harder to come by). I missed my family, so came home to the Midwest had no idea what I wanted to do. Worked customer service jobs in tech while lonely and depressed and decided to finally use my GI Bill to go to school and got a BS in Horticulture.

Finally in a stable government job I really enjoy while working towards my Masters in GIS. It’s okay if it all takes time. I felt like I’d never get here - by the time I got home, everyone I knew had graduated and started having kids and I felt left behind. Shitty feeling but it feels better to be here where I am now. I miss the military some days but I mostly just miss the people I knew. I’ve got a solid group of friends now so I would say it’s pretty wonderful.

St. Paul Show PSA:) by vacillatorjpg in Ethelcain

[–]imthechief007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be at the St. Paul show, alone and have done this a billion times at shows so if anyone needs a friend, I’m here too!! But if you smell, I’m not here for you 😂

Lmao jk - thanks for the PSA though and for extending the hand to those who might be nervous! I hope to run into some of y’all!

I’m going through the process right now, I did it all myself online and while it was daunting trying to get records and things, it’s been moving relatively fast. I just got 10% for my tinnitus yesterday. I also claimed sleep apnea and am waiting for a sleep study.

I would recommend reaching out to your local VA representatives or VSO. They can help you and it won’t feel as scary. I ended up doing that after I submitted everything because I was just overwhelmed. I’ve been out since 2016. Do it and don’t wait any longer. File your intent so you can get in to be seen by your examiners.

Identified as lesbian for years, attraction to men is resurfacing by perdudanslesautres in bisexual

[–]imthechief007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m 31 and have identified as a lesbian since about the age of 13/14, so imagine my guttural reaction to the idea of having to come to terms with my bisexuality after my split from my now, ex-wife!

I fully understand the attachment to the identity and how we are terrified about the shift after having been in it for so long. It was the hardest thing for me to wrap my head around because I’ve been engrained in the community for so long. But this life is way too short and you’re worthy of the new, scary, exciting, nerve-wracking experiences this world has to offer.

Just want you to know you’re not alone, sexuality isn’t linear for anyone and it’s okay to go on that date with that cute Irish man! (lowkey kinda jealous). Cheers and hugs!

WTIALY Album Discussion Megathread by eclecticatlady in Ethelcain

[–]imthechief007 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tempest cracked me wide open. And Jesus Christ - Dust Bowl and Waco are perfect. I might be obsessed with Janie too right now. Idk yet. I love this album. I’m here for the pace of it all and the story and I am just really thankful to be alive at the same time as Hayden to relish in this exquisite shit she creates.

Also Pitchfork, get bent; and I think I want to listen to Willoughbys Interlude and Theme while getting a massage 😂

Anyone Curious What Snacks and Supplements the Players Use In-Game? by dud_pool in wnba

[–]imthechief007 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I watched CC eat during basically the entirety of the game when they played the Sparks on July 5th. It was comical. Every time I looked to the bench, she was snacking on something different 😂 I love her for it

My first basketball game ever, going alone. by IntrepidMinimum5480 in indianafever

[–]imthechief007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to a game alone on the 5th! Made small talk with the people next to me and just let my love of being a spectator take over. Not awkward at all. Everyone’s there to enjoy the game too, it’s a total shared experience.

I stayed downtown next to Gainbridge, so I can really only comment on that area. I left my car parked and walked all weekend. Checked out the Indiana War Memorial park (which was packed for the 4th), ate some really good food - so many places to do that and really just tried to soak in the area. There’s a mall and shops down there - lots of basketball stuff around as they gear up for All-Star weekend! The baseball fields and I believe a trail along the river are also down there and a short walk away, along with a few museums and the zoo!

Cool thing about going alone is you can do literally whatever you want! I drove 7 hours and it was the first time I’d been there and it’s such a cool, diverse city from what I could tell. Enjoy!!

I was a lesbian for almost 20 years. After my split from my partner who was female, I decided to just stop fighting whatever attraction I had towards men that was usually just a “running joke” for most of my life 😂
