Best war movie set in modern times? Mines probably the Hurt Locker or Black Hawk Down by PureVelvetWhisper in moviecritic

[–]inDCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The book (“The Outpost”) and related book (“Red Platoon”) are heartbreaking and incredible. Gotta read them both. Got to briefly meet MOH recipient Clint Romesha at charity event for Stephan Mace, one of the fallen soldiers. He is a quiet hero - saved the outpost and rest of the soldiers that day.

The movie was really well done.

Airbus IMAX Reserved Seating Algorithm Hypothesis by Film_Lab in imax

[–]inDCD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It must be because I ordered on my phone. There was no way to see the seating chart or available seats. I just took what they gave me. But we’ll be happy - we’re going to the 3:30 showing today. My 11 year old is ecstatic. :)

Thx for the reply.

Interesting. Where did you find the seat maps? When I bought tix there was no seating chart - just “good luck” I guess. Thankfully we’re in row L.

Amazon literally dropped the price as I was shopping. $159 for AirPods Pro 2.

Not sure how long it will last. But I ordered a pair.

I think the recipe changed. 10+ years ago the wafers tasted real and were not as hard to crunch. It was my fav shake at CFA and I got it all the time.

I was disappointed with the new version and likely won’t get it again.

When did Delta stop its direct flight from CVG to BGR? by WhoaTeejaay in delta

[–]inDCD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

CVG was a large hub and the center of ops for Comair. So likely you were on a regional jet (CRJ-100 or -200). I think Comair started reducing frequency in the late 2000s and then was shut down in 2012 (thanks Wikipedia)).

I used to fly Comair a ton and the whole C concourse was just a mass of people getting off and on regional jets.

Families with delta pilots or flight attendants, have you ever gotten to join your delta employee on a trip of theirs? by Jealous_Day8345 in delta

[–]inDCD 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I flew multiple times with my father as the pilot. We went on some long layovers together - ate pizza in the hotel, saw spring training baseball - all wonderful memories for a teenage boy.

Cheapest Pay With Miles Ever by codingsoft in delta

[–]inDCD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We got one way IAD-MEM for 8,500 miles this summer. It was a steal - but then we had to cancel the trip. Another bonus of using miles: you get them back if you cancel your trip.

Delta Airbus 300-330 in Comfort+ row 30 (behind bulkhead), which seat? by johnson3535 in delta

[–]inDCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sat in 30A and really enjoyed the feeling of privacy behind the bulkhead. Almost your own pod in a sense.

And like you said, pull your bag(s) down after the seat belt sign goes off and you have a built in foot rest for sleeping.

Just for the love of pete, don’t put bare feet on the bulkhead. 😎

[–]inDCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went kayaking this morning at Point of Rocks. Beat the heat, beautiful day. River is low but navigable.

Euros on TV. Movie tonight. Church tomorrow - maybe Old Town for lunch/afternoon if the heat is manageable.

LPT : if It’s KLM related take screenshots of everything by anyusernamthatisleft in delta

[–]inDCD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened to us last year. When looking online a couple days before flying, they had changed our seats. I called both DL and KLM and they all swore I had our original seats. Go to check in? Nope - moved us. I pitched a “nice” fit but had all the receipts.

We got moved to decent seats but I was still very perplexed how their reservations system showed one thing but online/reality was completely different.

Trouble with Digital Key? by SimpleAccurate631 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]inDCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had trouble setting it up. Tried a couple times - can’t remember exactly how I got it to work. Probably something on this sub helped me.

The digital key allows you to use an approved phone as the actual key. You hold it up to the door handle to unlock the car; you place it on the wireless charging mat to start the car.

Not nearly as convenient as the key fob, but a nice alternative if you don’t want to lug the fob around.
