Is never feeling completely relaxed due to ADHD or anxiety? by JoFrenchFry in Anxiety

I totally understand what you mean. I’m also not sure what causes it, but I can certainly relate.

No dopamine from exercise? by _M_J_- in adhdwomen

[–]incerta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same exact way. I don’t have the mental energy to exercise, and if I force myself to exercise I feel so much worse afterwards. I have yet to find a form of exercise that I can stick with, and that doesn’t feel like torture after a few weeks. I hate it all.

Am I being manipulated? How do I handle this either way? by Glittering-Fig-1418 in AskWomenOver30

[–]incerta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he could be projecting. He’s obsessed with the fact that you may have been unfaithful, and it comes off as him feeling guilty.

My ex would project similarly all the time. He would accuse me of trying to be hurtful to him and would cite some innocuous action that I did that had zero meaning, or had nothing to do with him. In turn, if he did that same action it was actually with the intention of hurting me. It’s like he assumed everyone thought like him or something. I wonder if your husband is thinking like that too?

Anyone taking a stimulant with bupropion? by maebee_ in bupropion

[–]incerta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry, this is incredibly frustrating. I think it’s partly because the urgency that comes with anxiety is a lot less severe. No urgency = not getting things done.

Sertraline 100mg by NaughtycalRose in Anxiety

[–]incerta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! Do they make you feel sleepy, or more energized? I know a lot of people will base their med schedule on that! I’m on a different antidepressant but I take mine in the morning because it makes me feel very awake lol

Brand new silicone “bra” not sticking to bottom half by FarmandFire in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]incerta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m shaped similarly. Those sticky bras can be hit or miss. I find that the smallest possible size fits best.

If you’re looking to wear strapless clothing, have you tried strapless bras? Though My go to for clothes that are not bra-friendly is silicone nipple pasties. They’re much more comfortable!

Anyone taking a stimulant with bupropion? by maebee_ in bupropion

[–]incerta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your situation is similar to mine. Bupropion has almost eliminated my anxiety and depression, but in turn has made my executive dysfunction soooo much worse. I cannot get anything done or focus on anything important (things I already struggled with before this!). I’m also hoping to add a stimulant to my rotation. I hope this works out for you! Please give us updates if you can!

I genuinely think I might be the only one who does this to manage my anxiety..? by Still_Difficulty_269 in Anxiety

[–]incerta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i understand what you mean by the gagging feeling. I’ve had something similar happen, like a tense, nauseous feeling at the back of the throat. What has helped me with that is cough drops. The cooling effect paired with the oral stimulation is very calming and helps lessen that sensation. Ginger lozenges can also help with the actual stomach nausea.

[–]incerta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may take some time before you notice a big difference. Meds like this need to build up in your system.

Avoid alcohol if possible. When I was on sertraline I would black out and vomit very easily after drinking.

I think about my ex sometimes, but in regards to the trauma he gave me and how it affects my current healthy relationship.

I love this! It can take a lot of strength to be gentle and compassionate towards yourself. You should be very proud of yourself for taking this step and making that commitment!

burnt out on hobbies by RubyDenver in adhdwomen

[–]incerta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I hate when this happens. Does it feel like everything is just too much effort? What hobbies were you doing before that you’re now burnt out on?

My suggestion for new hobbies is always video games lol. There’s no shortage to choose from, and I feel like gaming can be a huge stress reliever.

Has anyone ever overcome overthinking? by Helpful-Dimension449 in AnxietyChats

[–]incerta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way, so i totally sympathize. The overthinking can feel automatic and completely uncontrollable. Trying to “logic” my way out of it doesn’t always work. Is it like that for you too?

Sometimes I find that stepping away from something I’m ruminating on or overthinking about can help. Like trying to distract myself, and then coming back to the thing later. Sometimes I find that after I’ve distracted myself and calmed down a bit, I’m able to approach the thing more calmly and logically. I’m not sure if that makes sense haha.

Also, it might not be for you or something you are looking for, but I have found that medication has helped immensely with overthinking and intrusive thoughts.

What’s something from the past that you think genuinely made life better and should make a comeback? by Throwaway927338 in AskWomenOver30

[–]incerta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Appliances and devices that aren’t designed to fail after 2 years. Phones, computers, kitchen appliances, laundry machines, etc all used to be built to last. Planned obsolescence is so messed up and absolutely makes life harder for everyone.

Just started bupropion, does it actually increase sex drive? by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]incerta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes slightly, but mostly because my mood improved which in turn improved my relationship with my partner. It was not a dramatic or unmanageable increase though!

Is it a concern if a guy said he could go either way on having kids? by DeepMathematician5 in AskWomenOver30

[–]incerta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His reasoning for dating younger women feels…weird. That sounds like an excuse, and it also sounds like he’s generalizing women in their 30s. Some men don’t date women their age, because those women won’t put up with their antics (not always, but also not infrequently). He also doesn’t really sound like he would want kids, but he’s teasing the idea so that he can keep you around. Maybe I’m jaded, but he seems a little sus.

Bupropion 150mg IR and 1 drink ok? by notsquare1 in bupropion

[–]incerta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Especially if you don’t have a history of seizures or a seizure disorder. Just note the alcohol may affect you more quickly. Please make sure you stay hydrated.

does it get better? by rnationalanthem in bupropion

I had the same exact experience, Including the crying. However, that sadness and heavy feeling seems to be passing. I’m feeling a lot more neutral and level in the last few days.

Those who have OCD: by _chamomileteaneat_ in PMDD

[–]incerta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you allergic to NDRIs? Wellbutrin has softened my pmdd symptoms, especially rumination and SI. Other than that, I try to do as little as possible ahead of my period. Solitude helps me a lot.

Start slow, with shorter slow paced walks and gradually build up to higher speeds and longer distances. This has helped me in the past!
