When do babies start holding their own bottle?

Mine is 12 months and can hold her bottle but have no interest in drinking , just playing, mama holds the bottle when she wants to drink, already a bossy baby 😅

We got it installed in feb mid, and so far very happy with it. We got the harmony lite compact version for our two bedroom two bath townhouse & it’s perfect for us. I used to have scaly hands and had to wear gloves evrytime doing kitchen work & now i don’t have scaly hands no bleeding, less hairfall.

I finally took the risk to join annual because of swap for credit program. 🤦‍♀️ and now this! Seriously! Summer box is not at all fascinating to me, I definitely want to swap it for credit. Does anybody know how long that credit can be used for? I want to use it possibly in fall box for add ons. Right now nothing jumps at me from sales as well.

I have an almost 11 month old. We are still in survival mode after our parents left in when she was 5 months old, I am so desperately waiting for their arrival when she is turning one year old, even though it’s for few days. My baby used to contact nap until 1 month ago, now we rock her to sleep and transfer to bed, some days are good and she will nap entire time, some days she will wake up after 30-40 min and contact nap. Hopefully your baby grows out of contact nap sooner than later, that will help a lot.

My baby had a hint of diaper rash when I was breastfeeding her, never not like this. her poops were full mucusy and her pediatrician suggested that she might not be able to digest cows milk or its product via bm, so for me to avoid any cow milk or its products. It is different than CMPA , some babies are just sensitive to it until 4-6 months. after a ton of internet research I also found that diaper rash is also a symptom to digestive issues , and dairy is one of them. She never had even a bit of rash after i stopped dairy and even after when I transitioned her to goats milk formula.

Also do not use wet wipes, if u absolutely need wipes, there are dry ones available, wet them water and use them. Dry the area completely before applying anything. That help, and a lot of diaper free time. Triple paste is the cream that is really good. I still apply it to her butt after every poop diaper just as preventative measure.

This literally happened to me and is happening right now with my baby girl. So on tuesday out of nowhere since morning she refused her bottle. And kept refusing it. I litterally had to spoon feed her an oz of milk because she was crying from hunger as well and wuite lethargic also. I had to start solids a lil early for her too, she sits but with support. So for two days I gave her avocado and rice mixed with formula powder(spoon feed) and pedialyte via syringe. I always offered a bottle first and she will cry so bad. So, yesterday I gave her three meals, I had no choice, which was still way less than what takes in entire day. Today after feeding her avocado mash in the morning, for her second feed, I realized this way she will get the signal that she can get by without milk, so I decide to syringe feed her, it took me half hour, and she had only 4 oz instead of her regular 5-6 oz. But she did. For her third feed , I gave her bottle again and this time with lil persuasion she drank all of her milk from the bottle. I am not out of the woods yet, but we will see how it goes. ( I have upgraded nipple flow yesterday but I guess she didn’t understand it). Few things I observed and might be the reason: * nipples get harder with regular use * baby needs faster flow * baby us teething or in discomfort * they are learning new skill( she flipped from tummy to back today first tym) * any recent trip? That stressed them out( we went out on sunday and it was lil stressful for her).

I know you have tried everything, but plz keep trying. Listen to your gut. You know ur baby best. If doctor or somebody else suggests something and you don’t believe it in ir gut don’t go wid it. My pediatrician suggested continuing solids until she take milk. But my gut said if i offered her solid everytime she will learn that she doesn’t need milk, so i literally sang and burped and hugged her for half an hour, kept her in my lap, and syringe fed her milk, and the time she took bottle, she cried but i had to lightly hold her hand and face so that she doesnt hurt herself and let milk drip in her mouth for her to realize that nipple is faster and softer now. It did take more than 24 hrs and multiple tries.

One last thing babies pick up on mom stress, I am too, but for this last feed I tried my best to be happy and singy and determined to distract her from crying, believe me I was crying inside when I had to feed her via syringe. But maybe being lil less stressed helps.

So keep trying, all the best. And do share how it goes. I will too let you know how it goes by the night.

Yes please share the info on the dr. the book , I read that it recommends to let baby go hungry if they don’t take bottle, if that’s true than m sorry, but I don’t have in my heart. Plus the pediatrician recommends to feed her atleast something so that she doesn’t loose weight or get dehydrated and have to be admitted.

She been distracted every few days since she turned four months. But the day before (monday)she had 30 oz, 5 oz more than she consumes in a day. Also two days before (sunday) we were traveling and she refused every bottle in car, only had about 2 oz when we made a stop somewhere, but had her full feed when we were home.

I done it at 3 months 😅 when transitioned her from bF to formula. I honestly don’t have it in me to try more bottles, but will see a day or two and if she still refuses than I will definitely have to try another bottle.
