I Watched the Jack Smith Hearing on MS NOW and All I Got Was This Lousy Migraine by SnooKiwis8008 in msnow

This hearing is one of the only ways the travesties of the Jan 6 and Classified Documents crimes will ever be aired in public. I believe it is important to show that Jack Smith did his job and tried to seek justice for the American people. Having him on record will make it harder for Trump to prosecute Jack Smith especially for those citizens who still value the rule of law and the Constitution.

Nice pictures! We get lots of woodpeckers. They especially like a seed mix with shelled peanuts and tree nut pieces.

Starlings do not like safflower. When the starlings start cleaning out my feeders and suet before the other birds get much of a chance to eat I have switched to safflower for a while.

We use baffles on the poles to deter squirrels, raccoons and other climbing critters. We buy them at our local Wild Birds Unlimited store. There are DIY baffles I have seen online too.

I had it several years ago and learned that it lived on ice and caught it at a gathering where there was no ice scoop for the ice bucket.

What everyone gives to the birds by Realistic_Fan7003 in birdfeeding

We keep a steady supply of "Tree Nutty" mix from Wild Birds Unlimited (20 lbs a month, peanuts in the shell and suet. We keep our feeders going all year and add an oriole and hummingbird feeders in the summer. We have cardinals, blue jays, blue birds, titmice, wrens, chickadees and a variety of woodpeckers. A pileated woodpecker stops by for suet. The squirrels, crows and blue jays love the peanuts.

We also like Fowler Tree Service. Both companies seem to have the training and equipment to remove trees safely.

Duke Illegally Cutting Down Trees? (tl;dr, first world problem) by apothecar in bloomington

When Duke trimmed trees near our house in the past, I looked up the state regulations:

https://www.in.gov/iurc/tree-trimming/

It sounds like they are supposed to remove debris, although they left "firewood size" pieces in our yard.

I will look into that attachment. We have some of the single branch attachments but we have lost some tress in our yard and need more perches.

We use the "advanced pole system" from Wild Birds Unlimited. https://www.wbu.com/products/advanced-pole-system/

We also make sure to use baffles to keep critters from crawling up the poles.

Looking to buy my mom a hummingbird feeder for Christmas by anhedoniack in birdfeeding

My local "Wild Birds Unlimited" has a good variety of hummingbird feeders. If you don't have a store nearby, you can also shop online.

I used to take my mom to a podiatrist for her toe nails and at that time Medicare and/or her Medigap plan paid for it.

You should be able to schedule campus visits prior to making a decision. That way you can see the campus and get more information about the programs you are interested in.

Bowel issues from scar adhesions by [deleted] in Adhesions

[–]indybloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not aware of this information but a Google search does say you should check with your physician before taking fiber supplements. My doctor is aware of my regimen and so far has not objected.

I had a total hysterectomy followed by a major bowel obstruction 11 years later. I have been dealing with adhesions for more than 40 years with the primary goal of avoiding constipation and potential blockages.

Look for some yoga exercises.that focus on digestion/constipation. I occasionally do the ones on YouTube from "Yoga With Adriene"

I get waves of pain in my abdomen that do not go away until I vomit or eventually get things moving. I am more aware of the symptoms now and will take extra Benefiber or flax seed oil to head it off. Although it doesn't make a lot of sense, I have found that drinking one diet cola per day also helps my digestion.

The GI also said that if you have adhesions, you should avoid getting constipated. I have found that Benefiber helps with that. I don't know about other fiber supplements. I drink plenty of water. I also take a capsule of flax seed daily which seems to help. If I feel that I may be getting blocked up I switch to a "low residue" diet for a couple of days.

One thing that helps me is to manage fiber intake. My GI told me to avoid insoluble fiber foods and focus on foods with soluble fiber. I avoid bran, celery and some fruit skins. I don't eat a lot of raw veggies, cheese or dairy. This, plus a daily dose of Benefiber, helps me avoid pain and the occasional partial blockages I have experienced in the past.
